🇵🇭 68 YEARS LATER, THE PHILIPPINES WIN AGAIN. 🇵🇭
68 years.
That is how long Filipino football fans had to wait to see the Philippines win an Asian Games football match again.
On 26 May 1958, the Philippines defeated Japan 1–0 at the Asian Games in Tokyo.
Yesterday, on 22 September 2026, the Philippines defeated Kuwait 2–1.
And there is one very important difference between these two victories:
In 1958, the Philippines were represented by the senior national team.
In 2026, it was the Philippines Under-23 squad.
Different generations. Different teams. Different era.
But the same Philippine pride. 🇵🇭
And there is an incredible little piece of history connecting the two victories: an Aldeguer scored the winning goal in both matches, 68 years apart.
From Japan in 1958.
To Kuwait in 2026.
A new generation of Filipino footballers has now written its own chapter in Asian Games history.
68 YEARS.
