We really excelled in the relays, getting a club record in all of them; the 4x100m male and female relay and the 4x400m male and female relay!!

Too many photos and videos for one post, let’s start with the posing. 🦅💫

SAL is the Southern Athletics League, this is the first competition of 4 since being promoted to the higher league, and we made our mark in 3rd place (shown in the 4th slide being the moment we heard).

In the words of the chairman, Mat, thank you to our coaches, volunteers and athletes for a truly remarkable day yesterday. Four years in the making with much more to come!! 💛🖤

The seniors also competed at the County champs at the beginning of May. Southwark represented at the Surrey, Middlesex and Derbyshire County Champs.

Joel came 1st in 100m at Derbyshire🥇!!

At Middlesex, Jeffrey reached the semi-finals with a SB and Bryce with a PB in 100.
Waiyan and Sadé got to the 100m finals with PBs
More PB’s with Maxime getting to the 400m final and Safia in the 400m hurdles final.

Will made the 400m final with a PB at Surrey. James got a PB in the 100m and Ken and James both made the finals of the 200m.

Junior weekend round up:

Congratulations to everyone who competed at the Surrey Championships this week. We saw some outstanding performances, with 12 new PBs achieved across the competition. All of our juniors should be incredibly proud of their efforts and achievements.

Qualifying News:
Both C-Jay and David achieved the qualifying standards for the U16 & U18’s England Athletics Championships this summer - a fantastic achievement for them both.
