Wembley Stallions AFC The Wembley Stallions are a British American Football Club founded in 2013, with a Senior team, Youth team and Junior team

The Wembley Stallions were founded in 2013 with a single goal: to offer safe, fun, competitive American football to anyone desiring to play. The club strives to provide a structure that’s conducive to meeting this goal of fair and safe play. Each year, the club intends to provide competitive football for all. Players are assigned to position based on skill level to create a competitive squad. We understand the desire to play the position that motivates an individual and we give consideration, and accommodation when possible. However, we also have a responsibility to field a competitive team. Therefore, we reserve the right to train you in the most suitable position

PLAYERS’ PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2026 🏆

Did Someone Order Takeaway?🥡

For the second straight season, Will Roman is our Defensive Player of the Year. Under the guidance of Coach Rix, #3 has developed into one of the leaders of the Wembley defence.

With Will patrolling the secondary, throwing his way meant there was a good chance your offence was about to become your defence. Despite featuring in just 6 games, 7 interceptions on the season tell that story.

But Will’s impact wasn’t only recognised by the coaches. His knack for making big plays in big moments, football IQ & leadership earned the respect of his teammates, who also voted him their Players’ Player of the Year.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2026 🏆

Our leading scorer of the season!

Receiver. Quarterback. Returner. What can’t this man do?! ⚡️

Despite missing games this season, whenever JT lined up, the threat never changed. Whether he was on the end of deep receiving touchdowns, snatching ankles on kick returns, or even lining up under centre himself — one thing remained constant: he was going to make plays.

JT gave the Stallions a threat from anywhere on the field and a reason to believe something could happen whenever the ball found his hands.

No matter the position, the playmaking never changed.

MOST IMPROVED PLAYER 2026 🏆

Wembleys Hitman, if there was a bounty on your Qb, number 23 was sure to collect it.

Luke was a formidable force on the defence this year, a true swiss army knife. Whether it be lining up at Linebacker, Edge Rusher and even Nose Tackle, Luke was going to make his presence felt.

Double digit TFL’s & a joint league leading 8.5 sacks on the season only highlights a fraction of his impact. Last seasons Rookie of the year has made himself one of the pillars that this defence stands upon. 🏅

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR 2026 🏆

Mr. Contain! 🧱

Wembley’s very own Giant made a living in opposition backfields all season.

2026 was Ednei Mauricio’s first year of adult football, having previously only played university ball with the Brunel Burners and #99 wasted no time making his presence felt. A nightmare for offensive lines across the league, Ednei finished the year with a Premiership-leading 16 tackles for loss.

From setting the edge to causing havoc in the backfield, Mr. Contain was a force all season long.

99 Problems. A block was never one.🤝

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2026 🏆

Our first award of the 2026 season goes to Daniel Kleynhans!

DB by position, but Daniel’s impact went far beyond the secondary this season. From handling long-snapping duties to being a menace downfield and wrecking havoc on kick-offs, Dan was a key part of the Stallions’ special teams unit.

Not all impact is shown on the stat sheet but Dan is the kind of player willing to do whatever the team needs, and do it well 🏅

The review of the Stallions first season at the top level of Britball is underway. At first glance facing 5 losses in the season could be interpreted as a poor showing. Only winning 2 and tying another doesn’t scream that there is a new powerhouse in London. But look behind the numbers and tell the stories of the season and it will be remembered as a solid start to a new era.

The season started with rebuilds on the agenda. The Offensive line that had been so dominant in 2025 saw retirements, transfers and injury withdrawals. Literally starting again Coach Jack Johnson and one of the retirees Coach Rey Sh*ttu began the task of rebuilding.
By the end of the season the new shoots began to bud.

Young QBs were added to the team with 20 year olds Boris Poynarov and Henry Flint joining the team.

Receivers from the ‘25 unbeaten season withdrew as our two Portuguese players Igor Marquez-Lopes and Fabio Gama both returned home.

Defensively, Ben Swaby was seeing his family grow so had to take the year off from being the dominant 3 Tech we had relied on to put together cots, settle into a new home and, put family first. Other players also found they needed time so again new players had to be inducted into the culture of the Stallions.

Coaches too made moves and both Coach Rix and Coach Warren had to work with young, highly talented but inexperienced coaches.

Game 1 saw the team grab defeat from the jaws of victory but real progress was shown when the Aztecs visited the Ranch. Games were played competitively but not enough to threaten the W column. However two key wins were achieved. Firstly against the Cats to record the teams first win in the Premier division and then, on the final week of the regular season a terrific win over London Blitz. The Stallions fielded their lowest numbers as injuries and absences took their toll including not having QB1 Ted Watts.

The win is a massive boost and a great way to end our first season in what we hope to be a long stay in the top flight. We didn’t finish last in the division so would not have been relegated if there had been normal service.

We saw players develop and even had Stef Atidzah (DB) move up to the new Warriors where he has already made a fantastic impact. We continue to recruit and develop. We are sure both Warriors and Guard will be reviewing our roster. It’s the way of things.

To put on a programme as extensive and successful as the Stallions takes a lot of effort by a lot of people. The word on the street is that Head Coach and chairman Warren Smart and General Manager Jackie Smart run a tight ship. But not without help from a lot of people. 20 plus coaches across the three teams. Martin Ward and his Team Manager Helen Morris run the U16 programme. Rob Burton runs the U19’s (and would dearly love to recruit a team manager).
Danni Hamelberg shares time with the Warriors Women and is a massive help throughout the season. Tony Small is photographer par excellent! The team captains help steer the culture and ethos of the club and over 100 athletes have been proud to call the Wembley Stallions family.

But the last word goes to Aaron ‘Green’ Greenidge. Green (pictured) has been the most underrated running back in the country for 10 years. He has posted several 1,000 yard plus seasons, led the league at all levels and has bled Stallion blood for us. This year was always going to be his last as a player but we are hoping for a return in a coaching and support position. We will miss him on the field where his skill and athleticism have made us all gasp in wonder.

A new chapter begins soon with Off Season OTA’s. But for now. We want to thank everyone who helped, volunteered and worked to make this year such a success.
