Long Eaton Boxing Club

We have been at The Lions Den in Newark today. Alice Sokyrka and Elliott Parker both had skills bouts on an all skills show. It was Alice's second skills bout and boxed extremely well and is definitely our pocket rocket!. Great jabs and back hands with lovely head movement against a girl who had a really good jab on her
It was Elliotts first skills and boxed behind a really good jab and backhand. He landed some clean shots and avoided return shots with good footwork
Well done both of you, all the coaches are very proud.

We've been at stoke on trent today and made extremely welcome fron Mark and the team at Queensberry Police boxing club
Lexie had her fourth skills against a home girl and showed her strength, skill and fitness levels to prove she is now ready for her first competitive bout .
Riley had his first bout again against the home side He dominated the bout with excellent use of his jab, backhand and uppercuts.His pivot were especially good moving away from a strong lad. He fully deserved his unanimous points win.

William the warrior boxed in the schoolboy prequarter championships finals today in Newcastle and just lost a very close contest. He didn't take a step backwards and fought like true warrior that he is. His openents record was 6 wins from 6 and was 11months older.We are extemely proud of him and look forward to his next battle Well done William!

Congratulations to Wiliam Sokyrka on winning the under 36kg East Midlands School boy Championships today.
William boxed against Archie Hopkins from Frontier Boxing. Both boxers were a credit to their coaches with some top quality boxing.
William boxed really well, his hard work and dedication in preparing for this fight really paid off. William landed some lovely combinations to the head and body and steadily increased his work rate as the bout progressed. William won on a deserved unanimous decision and will now progress to the National pre-quarter finals. We are all really proud of him.
A big thank you to everyone who came along to support him.

Total Boxing from Derby visited Long Eaton ABC today for some quality sparring. Well done to all boxers from both clubs and we look forward to a return trip to Derby Big thanks to Dave for brining a good size squad Well done boys and girls!
