🏉 NEW CLUB CAPTAIN | CONNOR UNDERWOOD 🏉

Stockwood Park RFC is delighted to announce Connor Underwood as Club Captain for the 2026/27 season.

Connor has been a proud servant of the club since breaking into the 1st XV as a teenager. His commitment, passion, leadership and determination have made him one of the standout figures in the red and yellow. From fierce carries and dominant lineout work to lifting silverware with his teammates, Connor embodies everything it means to represent Stockwood Park RFC.

As we look ahead to a new campaign, everyone at the club wishes Connor every success as he leads the squad into an exciting new season.

A huge thank you also goes to Frank Daly, who has led the club with distinction, passion and commitment. His leadership has helped lay the foundations for what promises to be another exciting chapter.

“Massive honour to be given the captaincy, and to build on everything the leaders in the past have made this club. Playing in the 1st XV since 17, I’ve had many great captains to learn from. Can’t wait to get started and to carry on the momentum we had in the back end of last season. The aim is more silverware and some league success this season!”

It's real. It's coming. And it's free to play.

The concept: Pick 15 clubs from across the Midlands pyramid and score real points based on their actual match results each week. Not a team of players -A TEAM OF TEAMS

How it works:

You must pick clubs from every level - 1 from Regional 1, 2 from Regional 2, 3 from each of Counties 1 through Counties 4
Every club has a price tag based on last season's performance (£2k to £10k)
You have a salary cap of £100,000 - you cannot afford all the favourites
Your squad is locked each phase with transfer windows between
Your own club must be in your squad

Why it works: Brings a bit of interest outside your own clubs bubble. Hopefully encouraging players to root for a side you might never of never heard of before, because when they win, you win. You might wanna be checking the socials of a relegated club to see if their summer recruitment is going to pay off and arguing with your mates about whether a £7k pick is a bargain or a trap. Or you could just pick a team and have a bit of fun.

Too Hot !!

With temperatures well in to the 30s and a red weather warning in place we have taken the decision to cancel Social Touch this week.

Hopefully we return again next Thursday in more pleasant weather.

60 players from minis, youth, senior men and women, plus coaches and parents all enjoying our Social Touch event in the sun last night.

Back again next week as we push for 100.

Change of time !!
There is apparently some or other non-contact sport involving feet rather than hands happening later tonight where 22 players will spend 90 minutes pretending that they are hurt rather than 30 players spending 80 minutes pretending that they’re not.

And this we are told is quite important to many.

So while some of us would rather gouge out our own eyes with a plastic spoon, we have conceded to the masses and moved the time for the AGM forward to a 7.00pm start in order to accommodate viewing of the televised kickabout at 9.00pm
