🏉 NATIONAL COACHES DAY — 6TH OCTOBER 🏉

It might be more of an American tradition… but we’re more than happy to borrow this one! 🇺🇸➡️🏉

Today is National Coaches Day, so it’s the perfect excuse to say a massive THANK YOU to every coach who gives their time to Stockwood Park. ❤️💛❤️

From Minis taking their first steps into rugby, through Youth and Girls rugby, Colts and into our Senior Men’s and Women’s teams — our coaches are there week after week.

🌧️ In the rain.
🥶 In the cold.
☀️ In the sunshine.
🏉 At training, matches, festivals and tournaments.

Planning sessions, setting up cones, developing players, building confidence and creating an environment where people can enjoy their rugby and become part of something bigger.

Most importantly, all of them do it voluntarily, giving up evenings and weekends simply because they love the game and want to help others enjoy it too.

So today, from everyone at Stockwood Park RFC…

👏 THANK YOU, COACHES.

The players might wear the shirts on matchday, but there’s an army of people behind them helping make it happen.

❤️💛❤️ One Club. One Park.

# # 🏉 BREAKING BARRIERS THROUGH SPORT 🏉

**Help us raise £15,000 to give more young people across Luton the opportunity to discover rugby — and everything that comes with being part of our game.**

The Community Rugby Trust exists for one simple reason: **to make sure a child’s circumstances are never the reason they miss out on sport.**

We go directly into schools and community organisations across Luton, introducing rugby to young people who might otherwise never get the opportunity to pick up a ball or walk through the gates of a rugby club.

Because those of us who know rugby understand that it offers far more than 80 minutes on a pitch.

**It creates friendships. It builds confidence. It encourages healthier lifestyles. It supports mental wellbeing. It teaches teamwork, resilience and belonging. And, for some young people, it can genuinely change the direction of their lives.**

But getting children to try rugby is only the beginning. **We need to help them stay in the game.**

Every penny we raise goes towards delivering coaching in schools or helping young players continue their rugby journey. Sometimes that means providing boots or playing kit. Sometimes it means helping with the costs that could otherwise prevent a child from joining a club.

And right now, your support can go even further.

# # # 🎯 OUR TARGET: £15,000
**With the opportunity for our fundraising to be DOUBLED by Sport England.**

Luton has communities facing significant deprivation — but it also has an enormous amount of untapped talent, potential and ambition.

**Let's go and find it.**

Let's find the children who could benefit most. Let's open the door to rugby and give them the support to keep walking through it.

**As a town. As a community. As a rugby family. 🔴🟡🔴**

Even a small donation contributes to that mission. Together, we can break down the barriers that stop young people accessing sport and give more children the chance to discover where rugby might take them.

🏉 137 ENGLAND CAPS. COACHING THE PARK SCRUM. 🔴🟡

The weight of experience that comes with 137 England caps is becoming a regular sight at London Road.

🏆 Rocky Clark — England Rugby’s most-capped forward — has been getting hands-on with the Stockwood Park pack, bringing an incredible depth of knowledge, experience and technical detail to our scrum.

There aren’t many better people to learn the dark arts of the front row from.

Body position. Technique. Power. Timing. The tiny details that turn eight players into one serious scrummaging unit.

🔥 137 caps worth of knowledge — being passed directly onto our players.

And here’s the best bit…

You could be one of them.

If you want to train in an ambitious senior environment, develop your game and work with coaches who have operated at the very highest level of international rugby — get yourself down to London Road.

Experienced player? Come down.
Returning to rugby? Come down.
Looking for a new club and a fresh challenge? Come down.

🏉 Senior training every Tuesday & Thursday from 7pm.

Don’t just watch the videos and wonder what training at Stockwood is like.

Grab your boots. Get down to London Road. Get involved.

No obligation. No pressure. Just come and train with us and see what The Park is all about.

📩 Drop us a DM or simply come along.

🔴🟡 PARK ON THE ROAD 🟡🔴

The 1XV hit the A1 tomorrow for their first away game, as we head to Bretton Park to take on Peterborough Lions, looking to build on last Saturday’s excellent home win and make it back-to-back victories.

Head Coach Ronnie Speakman has named a strong side for the trip, with Charlie Doody stepping up for his 1XV debut following a Man of the Match performance for the 2XV last weekend.

Even more impressively, this is Charlie’s first season out of Colts — another example of the excellent player pathway at Stockwood Park, giving our homegrown talent the opportunity to progress from Mini & Youth rugby into the senior sides and ultimately the 1XV. 🔴🟡

Rob Forster also gets another shot in the 1’s after impressing at training and pushing hard for his opportunity.

A tough away test awaits, but Park head to Peterborough with confidence, momentum and plenty of competition for places.

🌹 FROM STOCKWOOD PARK TO THE ENGLAND PATHWAY… 🌹

Huge congratulations to Stockwood Park Alumni Chanelle Michael, who has been selected to join the England U18 PDG (Player Development Group) Pathway — another massive step towards pulling on that famous Red Roses jersey. 🏉🌹

Everyone at Park is incredibly proud of this talented young woman and we’ll be watching with huge anticipation as her rugby journey continues.

Talent. Work ethic. Humility. Dedication. Being Coachable.

If those are the cornerstones of selection, they might as well give her the shirt now! ❤️🤍

Anyone who has watched Chanelle develop through the ranks knows just how much she has put into her rugby. You simply won’t find a player more dedicated to her sport.

👏 Congratulations, Chanelle!

And congratulations to her family and everyone who has coached, supported, encouraged and helped her along the way — here at Stockwood Park and elsewhere.

It takes a huge amount of commitment from a young player to chase a dream like this, but also a network of people behind them providing the opportunities, support and encouragement to help them fulfil their potential.

We hope this is just the beginning, Chanelle. Go chase that dream! 🌹

And Chanelle’s journey started where hundreds of others do every week — grassroots rugby.

❤️💛 Could your journey start at Stockwood Park?

We have a thriving Minis, Youth & Girls section, with many of our young players progressing into Regional Development Pathways.

But rugby isn’t just about producing elite players.

It’s about confidence, friendships, teamwork, belonging and having fun.

Whatever your age, s*x or previous team-sport experience, if you think rugby might be ‘your thing’ , then there’s a team waiting for you at Stockwood Park.

Come and find out where rugby could take you.
