🦁MACC LIONS 7–4 MACC BLUES 🔵

It’s always a tough game of futsal when you’re playing against your own — but the Lions were looking the part in their BRAND NEW purple futsal kit! 💜🔥

New kit, high hopes, kids raring to go and the pre-game high fives between both teams were HUGE. 🙌 This was going to be a good one!

From the first whistle, both teams wanted the win — and both knew they were capable of getting it.

It was end-to-end, back-and-forth futsal, with the goals flying in at both ends.

⚽ 2–0
⚽ 2–2
⚽ 3–3
⚽ 4–4

Every time one team looked like pulling ahead, the other came fighting straight back. The ball was moving quickly, the tackles were going in and those faces were getting redder by the minute! 🥵😂

At 4–4, the Lions knew they had to find another gear if they wanted to win this one.

The defence stayed strong, the intensity went up and Ryley was absolutely ON FIRE 🔥 finishing the game with an incredible SIX GOALS! ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽

Ryley might be our Sunday keeper… but he’s definitely our secret weapon outfield! 👀😂

A lovely goal from Rory added another, taking the Lions to 7–4 before the final whistle.

The Lions pulled away at the end, but make no mistake — this was not an easy game. They had to fight for every ball and work incredibly hard to get it over the line.

And judging by those red faces at full time, they certainly put a shift in! ❤️🥵

Brand new purple kit. Seven goals. Big smiles. A hard-earned Lions win. 💜🦁

Well played to both Macc Juniors teams — a brilliant game of futsal! 👏⚽

🦁⚽️ U12 LIONS vs INTER RANGERS FC ⚽️🦁

A tough one to take today.

We didn’t get started quickly enough and struggled to find our usual rhythm. There were moments of quality and bursts of energy, but overall it was a difficult first half and we went into the break 5–0 down.

The half-time message was simple…

We’ve been here before. Too many times we’ve started playing our football when it’s already too late.

Did the lads still want it? Absolutely. So go back out there and show it. 💪🦁

And the response was brilliant.

The boys came back out fighting, found another level and incredibly battled their way back into the game, scoring five goals and at one stage bringing it back to 7–5. 🔥⚽️

A final goal for Inter made it 8, but that second-half fight showed the character these lads have.

With a bare nine players and no subs, against a strong side who made us work for absolutely everything, it was always going to be a tough day.

The goals came, but we never quite managed to play the football we know we’re capable of — and that’s the lesson we take from today.

Sometimes football is like that. We learn from it, stick together and come back ready to work again.

Heads up, Lions. We go again next week. 🦁❤️⚽️

🦁⚽ THE LIONS HAVE ENTERED THE FUTSAL WORLD! ⚽🦁

This season, the Lions are taking on a brand-new challenge… FUTSAL! 🔥

Our first game saw us take on Hurdsfield Rebels — last season’s league winners — and what a game it was! 👏

After a few early mistakes, the Lions found themselves 3-1 down. But heads didn’t drop. They knew it was now or never, stepped things up another level and battled their way right back into the game. 💪🦁

FULL TIME: 3-3! 🤝

To come away with a draw against the league champions in our very first taste of futsal is something the whole team should be incredibly proud of! ❤️

Fast-paced, end-to-end and plenty of red faces by the final whistle! 😂 The Lions absolutely loved it — and judging by the sidelines, the parents did too!

A brilliant introduction to futsal and plenty more to come…

We go again a week on Monday! 🦁⚽🔥

MYSL | MACCLESFIELD JUNIOR U12 LIONS ⚽️🦁

FIRST 3 POINTS OF THE SEASON! 🙌🔥

A fantastic team performance from the lads this morning and a well-deserved first win of the season! 💪

The more these boys play together, the better they’re going to get — and today was another big step forward. 👏⚽️

We took the lead after some brilliant work from Liam down the wing, finding Rory in the box who produced a superb first-time finish to make it 1-0! ⚽️🔥

The second came from a perfect high press from the midfield. We won the ball back and played Ryley through 1-on-1, who stayed composed and calmly slotted it into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 🎯

2-0 LIONS! 🦁

A free-kick from the opposition brought it back to 2-1 and made the final 10 minutes a little nervy! 😅

But the lads dug deep, battled for every ball and worked together right until the final whistle to make sure all 3 points came home with the Lions! 💪🦁

🏆 MAN OF THE MATCH — LIAM 🏆

A brilliant performance playing in multiple positions and never looking out of place wherever he was on the pitch. Non-stop running, battling for the team and constantly looking to move us forward.

Well deserved, Liam! 👏🔥

🧤 SPECIAL SHOUTOUT — DAMIAN

A massive well done to Damian for stepping up and going in goal for the team today. Brilliant attitude and a great example of putting the team first! 👏🦁

🦁⚽️ PROUD OF OUR LIONS! ⚽️🦁

A great start to the season as we began our new U12 MYSL League fixtures.

The forecast promised sunshine in the week. The rain had other ideas, and rain it did! 🌧️

The whole team put in a brilliant performance against a decent side, showing great effort, teamwork and commitment from the first whistle 💪

With new faces joining us this season, today was a valuable opportunity to try different positions, see which combinations worked best and identify what we will focus on in training.

There were plenty of positives to take, and this group has already shown plenty of promise.

⭐ MOTM: Ethan ⭐

A superb debut in the back three, making crucial tackles and showing outstanding commitment for his teammates. Well deserved, Ethan! 👏

The season has only just begun… watch this space! 👀🔥🦁
