WHAT IS SILENT SUPPORT WEEKEND 🤔
FA Silent Support Weekend 2025 is a national initiative by to reduce pressure on youth players in grassroots football by encouraging spectators to show their support through applause only, instead of shouting instructions.

The goal is to create a more positive, pressure-free environment where young players can focus, make their own decisions, communicate with teammates, and have more fun. During this weekend, coaches are also encouraged to provide only minimal guidance, and players continue to communicate with each other on the pitch as they normally would.

Play Safe is a year-round campaign that champions the importance of safeguarding in football. It encourages leagues and clubs at every level of the game to play their part in making the game ever-safer, fun, and enjoyable for everyone, everywhere, every time.

Small Talk is Bigger Than You Think

For Play Safe 2025, we’re asking adults in football to give young people a voice. To create open conversations, ask questions, and actively listen to children. When children have space to talk, they feel
safe to share. Small but vital moments build trust in the long run.

✨ This is local grassroots youth football – it’s about fun, development, and community.
🙋‍♂️ Club and League officials are volunteers who give their time to make this possible.
🧑‍⚖️ Many of our referees are young and still learning – let’s support them as they grow.
💛 Most importantly, everything we do is for the players, so they can enjoy the game week in, week out.

Let’s set the tone for a positive, respectful, and fun season for everyone involved. 🌟
