When choosing a martial arts school, don’t just look at the timetable, the location, or the price.

Look at the coach.

What’s their history in the art?

How many years have they dedicated to learning, competing, teaching, and developing others?

Who were their coaches?
Who do they train with?
What have they sacrificed to become the instructor they are today?

Then look at their students.

A coach’s greatest resume isn’t usually what they’ve achieved themselves, it’s what they’ve helped others achieve.

Anyone can buy a gi.
Anyone can create a social media page.
Anyone can call themselves a coach.

But not everyone has spent decades testing themselves, refining their craft, and passing that knowledge on to others.

Good coaching leaves clues.

The culture of a gym.
The standards it holds.
The character of its students.
The progress they make.

In a world where anyone can claim to be an expert, experience matters.

Ask questions.

Do your research.

Choose your mentors carefully.

Because who teaches you today will have a huge influence on who you become tomorrow

For the next 4-6 weeks Wednesdays Nogi class (6-7.3pm) class will be wrestling workshops ran by 7 time national champion and BJJ purple belt 🤼

There will still be plenty of rolling but technique will be wrestling focused 🤼
