Longridge Set in a riverside location in Marlow, Longridge is a charity that provides a range of exciting outdoor adventures. Please book in advance!

Our Activities are very adventurous and so require qualified team members and equipment that must be pre-booked. Set in a unique riverside location near Marlow, Buckinghamshire, Longridge provides a range of exciting water sports and land-based activities aimed at young people of all abilities. As well as 12 acres of beautiful water meadows we have our own island, 'Taylor Island' for the ultimate swallows and amazons experience. Taylor island also gives us a sheltered backwater in which young people can experience the river with confidence.

85,000 young people will visit our world-class facilities this year and Longridge boasts a proud 50 year history and an excellent safety record. Our visitors range from schools and youth groups to individuals and corporate clients not to mention the Women’s Olympic Rowing Team and GB Kayaking Teams. Longridge is run by a team of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers and paid staff. We are approved by the BCU (British Canoe Union), RYA (Royal Yacht Association) and British Rowing. As well as AALA, Bucks County Council, Duke of Edinburgh Award and we are a recognized Olympic Training Centre. Each year we run a large number of courses ranging from beginner skills right through to advanced coaching and instruction. We have a range of facilities including well equipped accommodation for all needs, from camping to bunk house accommodation and indoor meeting, conference and training spaces. Longridge helps young people from all walks of life and abilities to develop water skills as well as leadership, self-discipline, confidence and respect. We rely on donations to expand and improve our site. http://www.longridge.org.uk/

With just a week left of Holiday Activity Days, we would like to beg the adults who drive our adventurers here to have a look at these photos and please come to collect any items they recognise! Our lost property bucket is overflowing with hats, water bottles, and all kinds of lovely things. We even somehow have THREE of the same Cookham Dean Cricket hat!

We can only keep items so long before they are washed and donated to our lovely local charity shops, so please come and collect your things.

The Pest Control Team are very aware they are not allowed in the kitchen.
However they are also very aware of where the food comes from.
This is the logical solution.

Our youngest adventurers have been foraging today! They gathered lots of plums to mix together with some delicious lemons and raspberries donated from Waitrose and have made us some very tasty lemonade (and a lot of mess!).

We’ve teamed up with several local supermarkets to collect any wonky food that might otherwise end up in the bin and have been using it for all kinds of adventures this year. We started this Food Scheme in memory of our beloved Chairman, James Lee, who sadly passed away this January. So - this afternoon we are raising a glass of raspberry lemonade to a man who gave so much to Longridge and is missed terribly.
