A huge thank you to Melksham Stags - Mixed Ability Rugby for delivering such an incredible session with our Healthy Man group 🙌
It was a fantastic evening full of laughter, connection and celebration. The group had the chance to chat with players and hear how rugby has helped build friendships, create a real sense of belonging, and support both physical and mental wellbeing ❤️
We’re already looking forward to visiting the club in the coming weeks for a rematch – and some well-earned time in the clubhouse after! 🏉
Next week, we’re heading to Melksham Community Campus for pickleball and spinning – we can’t wait 💪

It is with great regret we have to share the tragic news that Phil Stone passed away on Wednesday morning.
Phil was a huge part of the MRFC family and we are truly heartbroken by the news. Phil was an integral part of the Club, known and loved by many, involved not only as a player, but a coach, mentor and dear friend.
He was an amazing man who could light up a room, bringing huge energy and smiles to others.
The club will be putting a memorial event together when the time is right. For now, our thoughts and condolences go out to his family, children and close ones at this difficult time.
We also want to remind everyone that nobody has to face difficult moments alone. There will always be someone at MRFC willing to help, listen and support.
Rest in peace, Phil. You will not be forgotten.

End of Season Awards
Battered and bruised we celebrated the incredible achievements of some of our own last night.
Firstly, Blake Kyd… Blake has been there every week in week out for us this season, looking after the stags rain or shine with food and healthy beverages after our Monday training sessions, always smiling, always laughing and just the guy you need to see after a wet cold winter session. From everyone at the Stags Blake, thank you.
Coaches player Geraint Deadman. All year he has been an ever present figure within the squad, always giving 100% while never asking for the limelight, its grafters like Geraint that ensure victories and keep the team in a game. He is also liable to sprint 50m up the field and score, if only once a season 🦒💨
Players Player Fraser Hobin Bucksey. Fraser is the epitome of the Melksham Stags ethos. He has been with the team for a few years now and every year he’s improved but this year there has been a massive jump. From his incredible tackling, his sometimes miraculous finishing to his hunger on and off the pitch to constantly do what he can for the team he is a true star in the team and we all truely proud of him.
And then some bloke came up and ran off with the spirit of the stags award…
All joking aside, Phil Owens is the spirit of the stags… He embodies the true meaning of being a leader in his ability to pull his teammates up and sit down with them when they need a chat or a shoulder to cry on. His spirit has been the glue the squad relies on for the last couple of years and nobody would disagree with him being recognised not just as a great captain, but a great person.
Admin would also like to take the opportunity to recognise Jeremy Jez Flower.
It’s been another year of his passionate coaching and management of the Stags and it is genuinely massively appreciated by all the players the amount of graft and effort that goes into ensuring we have what we need to be able to play the sport we love. You’ve helped new players find their footing, helped old hands achieve their potential and coaches take their first steps into leading. So thank you Jez.
