U13s League game

From 2-0 down to a superb 5-3 turnaround💪
Unreal character from the lads to turn it around 🔥. Some of the football we played was superb and were worthy winners in the end! A team effort all round! Typical Boro don’t do things the easy way 😂

⚽️⚽️U13 GIRLS BEGIN ESFA JOURNEY WITH IMPRESSIVE WIN ⚽️⚽️

The U13 Girls began their first ever ESFA National Cup journey with an impressive victory over ESFA regulars Hyndburn & Ribble Valley. New coach Dan Wilson took the team in his first game and had plenty to be happy about come full time.

Although things didn't start brightly after only 2 minutes the long journey West looked like it could be problematic when the Hyndburn No.24 broke the back line and the offside trap to finish low past Duckling. But as the game continued so did Middlesbrough's confidence and within 10 minutes a long ball from new Captain Connie J from a Free Kick was taken down superbly by Holly S in the Hyndburn area and she slotted past the onrushing keeper to level the scores. The game was then back and forth right up until half time when the pressure took its toll and after a long throw from the Hyndburn No.16, the Hyndburn No.7 found herself in acres of space to smash past Duckling, who up until this point had stopped everything since the first goal.

Wilson then changed personnel and formation for the Second Half and the introduction of Skylar H proved vital and when she pressed the Hyndburn back line, she forced the error and finished superbly from the angle to level the scores. That did seem to spur on Hyndburn who saw chance after chance saved by the unreal Layla D in the Middlesbrough Goal which clearly seemed to frustrate the opposition as 10 minutes from time Fallon M-C broke free on the byline and drove into the box only to be pulled back by the Hyndburn defender giving Middlesbrough a chance from the spot. Holly S stepped up and smashed the ball past the Hyndburn GK to put Middlesbrough 3-2 up and in front for the first time in the game.

Hyndburn pressed and pressed and had it not been for some last ditch defending and the wall that was Layla D then it could have been a very different story, but Middlesbrough held on for an impressive victory and a great start to their National Cup campaign.

“I thought the girls we're excellent tonight, yes we rode our luck at times, but we defended resolutely and when you GK is in that form you have a chance of winning games. We did create some good moments but for our first game against a well drilled and solid unit in Hyndburn to come away with something is absolutely dellightful" said Wilson after the game

Middlesbrough District 4–1 East Durham

We hosted East Durham in difficult, windy conditions, with very little to separate the two sides during a tight first half.

At half-time, Middlesbrough made a couple of substitutions and tweaked the formation, which helped the team find another gear. The changes paid off as David O. opened the scoring to give Middlesbrough the lead.

Shortly afterwards, Ollie W. added two goals to put Middlesbrough firmly in control. His first was a wonderful header, before he followed it up with a poacher's finish to make it 3–0.

East Durham pulled a goal back with around 10 minutes remaining after Middlesbrough conceded from a sloppy opening. However, Middlesbrough responded well, with Tyler W. putting the game beyond doubt shortly afterwards to make it 4–1.

A strong second-half performance and some excellent attacking play saw Middlesbrough District come away with a deserved victory.
