It is with great sadness that I report the sad and sudden death of James (Jim) Ridley.
Our thoughts are with wife Di, sons Jacob & Christian and family. Sincere condolences to all. A much loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and great friend to many.
On the rugby front he was the first player to have represented every age group throughout young rugby, youth and then go on to play for our First XV at Monmouth RFC.
A proud player also at both Pontypool and Cross Keys. Representing also Monmouthshire County RFC and both Gwent Police and British Police. He served on Monmouth RFC club committee for many years and continued to be an active supporter of the club.
Jim made many friends also within golfing social circles at Monmouth Golf Club, Rockfield Golf Society, Fitzroy Golf Society and more recently Raglan Golf Club. He will indeed be missed by many - he was an absolute legend - a genuine βone offβ.
RIP my friend.
Byron
President Monmouth RFC
On behalf also of Rockfield Golf Society

π Abergavenny Rugby Festival π
π Our Under 7s the Dragons, and Under 10s the Sharks, ventured over to Abergavenny RFC and had a fantastic time at their festival yesterday!
π The Dragons enjoyed every minute of their morning of rugby. All the boys and girls had a fantastic time.
π Whilst the Sharks dug deep, with only 8 playersβ¦.playing every game with true grit and determination, showing team spirit and resilience throughout. Huge thanks to Abergavenny, Talywain and Llantrisant U10s for loaning players when we lost players to injury. All the games were played in the true spirit of rugby π.
