My and set ups from this weekends Brca National rnd 2 at BMR

Track is high grip and very bumpy making car balance is very difficult to find.

Both cars were solid and my 4wd was quite possibly the best 4wd I have ever driven. Driver let it down in qually but found his feet for the final.

BRCA National Rnd 2 is ✅️

Great effort for the track team and club for running a great meeting on a well presented track.

Special mention to the committee for persevering with the strange transponder issues I had all day in 4wd, much appreciated guys.

2wd was a solid day but some driver errors in qually cost me a higher starting spot. With 2 x 13s in round I thought I was very comfortable in the B final meaning a free run in Q4 little did I know that 26 points was only good enough for B10 🤯 madness.

Final was a case of stay in the train for as long as possible, the track was tough and making moves was difficult. Some errors from a couple of guys and a nice battle with Ewan Tumilty would see me come home in 7th 17th overall.

4wd
Was the start of transponders issues. Worked fine in Practice then issues in every run of qually made things a little difficult. 3 different transponders 2 recievers and a lot of stress haha.
Similar to 2wd some errors and also questionable driving from another driver in Q4 would see me B4.

Final started well up to second behind Oli with Nash in tow.
After a couple of laps Oli left to door open coming onto the straight I got up the inside and was ahead coming onto the straight unfortunatly there was contact no fault to anyone.

I would then drive the best id drove all day to bring home the B final win. 11th over all and my best National result to date. 🤩

A little frustrating as I felt I had the car on Sunday to make the main show.

Still not bad for an old chopper.

Speaking of old choppers huge shout out to Lee Martin RC for taking a much overdue Win in 4wd congrats my man...
Also thanks for finding the AirBNB with the reclining chairs, mega 🤣

To Ben Smith RC for the W in 2wd some boy.

The hole team worked well together al weekend and it showed with our amazing results... 👏

Special mention to Matt Thompson RC i know hes sweating about the Chopper championship as its currently 3-1 to RySpeed. Unfortunatly I miss round 3 at RHR as on holiday so at least he will get 2 more wins over me this season 🤣

BRCA National Round 1 is ✅️

Yes it will be a long read and to be honest its worth the read.

What a weekend, firstly a big shout out to the new committee. I'm sure there was lots going on behind the scenes that us racers didn't see but as a racer I have to say the meeting ran super smooth and efficiently 👏

Secondly a big well done to the Potteries Radio Controlled Model Car Club for presenting 2 very enjoyable layouts and a venue that im sure everyone enjoyed.

Onto results.

All in can say is im buzzing with how this weekend went and to be honest probably my strongest national results to date. is in full flow.....

2wd my was on the money following a small change from P1- P2
Along with dialing in the electronics for the lower grip conditions, powered by 3700 and as always doing the business.

Strong qually runs of 16,11,8,17 (error with 1 corner to go in Q4 🫣) would have me lining up B3 1 place behind my old mate Thompson.

The final was one of my best drives to date Thompson made an error on lap 2 I managed to get through and cruised round to take 2nd behind an extremely sharp Charlie Saunders.

1-0 to Clarke 😅

12th over all 👌

Onto 4wd again the was money from P2 and only small changes throughout the day as the track evolved.

Round scores of 14,13,11,16 (another crash on the last lap of Q4 cost me a higher starting spot 🫠) lined up B7

AGAIN.... 1 place behind Thompson who I had battered all day by ths 😅

Final was solid tagged early allowed the mid pack to get away but with plenty of time I managed to tag back onto the train where to be honest we all stayed hopeing for an error that didn't come and with little places to pass I would come home where I started B7.

17th overall.

All in all a great start to the National Series.

It's now 1-1 in the most important championship of the year
"The old choppa championship" between me and Matt Thompson RC 😃

The team was looking as big as it ever has and the banter in the pits was a laugh a minute.

Shout out to Lee Martin RC Jonny Skidmore RC and Thomas Phipps RC for strong showings in the A mains.

Also to Josh Holdsworth and Ben Smith RC for taking the Ws 👏

Special mention to Archie Bowman RC for taking a Round Tq in 2wd. Top top work mate and well deserved for you and your dad.. 👌

A short break and back to it at a much different surface at BMR for round 2 and I can't wait.
