As we come to our final of Pride Month, we’ve had a fantastic few days of running. We kicked off the weekend with a trip to Edinburgh to our sister club, Edinburgh Frontrunners , and enjoyed their fabulous 5K around Holyrood. As is tradition, we had all weathers but it was a fabulous celebration of our community, and thank you for being such brilliant hosts 🏳️‍⚧️ 🏳️‍🌈

Tonight we had members enjoying the Anita Nott Memorial race in the beautiful Jesmond Dene and Heaton Park. Thank you to the brilliant organisers Heaton Harriers👏

Finally, a massive congratulations to Rebecca, who this weekend completed a mammoth 100KM race through North Yorkshire. An incredible achievement and we are SO proud of you! 🌈 ❤️

🏳️‍🌈 International Frontrunners Day 🌍

Newcastle Frontrunners has been a very proud member of the International Front Runners network since our inception 15 years ago. We join over 13 UK and Ireland clubs, and over 130 clubs globally. We really are a massive global family of runners of all abilities who support inclusion, community, health and wellbeing for the LGBTQ+ community in sport. 🌈

We have some really special relationships with our wider UK and Ireland clubs - this all comes together at Glasgow FrontRunners OUTRun, which is a special date in our diaries. This week as we celebrate International Frontrunners Day we will be joining our special friends Edinburgh Frontrunners for their Pride 5K on Friday 😍 . We can’t wait! We also look forward to welcome visiting Frontrunners to our Pride Run in July! 🧡

Being a member of this global community is so special to us all, and we are so thankful to all the relationships and memories made 🌈

🧡 PRIDE RUN 5K 2026 - SOLD OUT 🧡

We can’t quite believe it, but with six weeks to go you have all SOLD OUT our Pride Run 5K. We have been so overwhelmed by the response to this years event, and we are SO excited to welcome you all to the most colourful, inclusive and fabulous race to kick start Newcastle Pride . 🌈

We still have some limited places for our Junior Pride Run 1-mile race - so head over to our website to secure one of these before they also sell out! 🎟️ ✨

JUNIOR PRIDE RUN 2026 🧡- Special Guests

We aren’t done with our special guests - today we are pleased to announce that we have four special guests for the Junior Pride Run, the Metrognomes! 🌈

Herbert, Sherbet, Maggot, and Rusty have been allowed out of the Metrocentre for one night only to come and celebrate Pride!

Curiosity and hijinks are guaranteed when it comes to this mischievous foursome. However, they are biggest supporters of their friends being their true selves.

They will be at the event for both the Junior Pride Run and the 5K Pride Run. We are thankful to the Metro Centre for their support for our Pride Run and the Northeast LGBTQIA community. 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️

Entries for our Junior Pride Run are £5, and all entrants get a medal, goody bag and lots of prizes are to be won. Sign up via our website 🌈 ✨

Entries for Pride Run 2026 have been flying since we announced our amazing host Gloria Love and special guest Dame Kelly Holmes, who will be starting both our junior and adult races and she will also be taking part in our 5K 😍

🏳️‍🌈 The Blaydon Race 2026 🧡 🖤

‘Twas the ninth of June… and we had all weathers for this years The Start Fitness Blaydon Race organised by our friends at Blaydon Harrier & Athletics Club. From heavy rain at the start, to beautiful sunshine as we were all gannin’ along the Scotswood Road - it was definitely one to remember. We had 40 members take part in this iconic North East race, congrats and well done to all of them - some amazing running! 👏 🌈

Thanks also to all the fab volunteers and organisers - see you all next year! 🧡 🖤

We are still SO thrilled by the news we shared yesterday that Dame Kelly Holmes will starting and taking part in this years Pride Run. But today we are back to business, and back collecting medals 🏅. Massive congratulations to our members, Fiona, Jules, Liza and Lee for their performances at the Helsinki Half. We know how much you all trained and you did yourself and everyone so proud! 🌈 👏

Also, whilst there was a lot of rain to contend with in Finland, over on the Cumbrian coast for the Solway Half, wind was the obstacle for NFR coach, Russell. But everyone who knows Russell knows that would never stop him - an incredible performance just a few weeks from the marathon. Well done!! 👏

🏳️‍🌈 NFR x JJ Pride Month parkrun Social 💙

As we start to celebrate Pride Month, this morning we had a fabulous joint social with our very good friends at Jesmond Joggers with a trip to Jesmond Dene parkrun . The JJs have always been incredible allies to us as a club, and it was so nice to run and chat afterwards - we even had a break from the rain 🌧️

And you know with NFR, where we are cakes aren’t far behind 🍰 . We were accepting donations for our cakes to raise vital funds for this years Newcastle Pride - thanks so much to everyone who gave so generously, to our fabulous bakers, and to the parkrun volunteers and organisers 👏
