With our season coming to and end last night against a very good Billy mill team, we were on the wrong side of an absolute hammering. Disappointing way to end the season however we now turn our attention towards our end of season awards night at Backworth Club (families welcome).

There will be a number of awards given out, a recap from our first ever season as a club and then a look forward to next season at the end.

Backworth 5 - 9 South Beach

Our final home game of the season and a chance for us to have a bit of a laugh saw the lads get assigned positions by a random generator - this saw the gaffer start at left back, our top scorer start at centre half, one of our keepers at centre midfield, a centre half upfront, and many other mental scenarios

We started the game at a pace we haven’t seen this season, going 1-0 up after throw in taken by Jonny Bell was controlled by the backworth berbatov Callum bell, rolled back into Jonny who whipped in a cross, the capacity crowd described it as the best cross they had ever seen, similar to Robert Carlos etc etc… which was met by JC who glanced his header into the top corner. 1-0

Our second goal came from some lone pressing by our centre half turned striker Tom OHagen, who disposed the right back and slotted the ball into a tight hole past the keeper who was in no man’s land from 25 yards out. 2-0.

The lads looked like they had just met jimmy saville as they were winning 2-0 early on, but inevitably as we were all playing out of position, South Beach started to take advantage and scored 250 goals without reply which took us up to half way.

With some choice words about enjoying ourselves and having a laugh ringing around the Backworth heads, we went into the second half and decided we were going to take the p**s even more.

Two sh*thouses on the sidelines, one in a Gucci cap and one with blonde hair, were cheering every tackle, shot, throw in, fart and sneeze from the club, which led us to score another three goals in the second half.

We played the final 20 mins with ten men as cam white said he needed to come off to paint his nails
