Developing confident, skilful rugby players starts with mastering the fundamentals.

This week’s backs skills session focused on a range of core attacking skills, including passing technique, offloading, long passing, decision making and evasion. Each activity was designed to challenge players to execute their skills under pressure, make good decisions and develop confidence with the ball in hand.

Technical ability is only one part of the game. By creating game-like scenarios, players learn when to pass, when to offload, when to take on the defender and how to make effective decisions in attack, skills that transfer directly to match day.

We finished the session with a fun, competitive challenge, practising diving to score in the corner. It was a great way to bring together everything we’d worked on while reminding the players that learning should always be enjoyable.

Our aim is to provide high-quality coaching that develops technically proficient, confident players in a positive and supportive environment.
