ROUND #1 - REPORT 🚴‍♂️

The series kicked off yesterday with a great first round in Eaton Park in Norwich. Over 70 young riders entered to take part and it was a brilliant afternoon of racing.

The racing was fast and furious with some great action during the racing.

Many of the riders had taken part in the series before but lots were racing for the very first time.

The weather was dry and warm with a blustery wind which kept things interesting.

It was inspiring to see riders challenging themselves to do their best against other riders in the three races; sprint race, endurance race, skills race.

Riders aged from 2-14 years old with a good mix of both boys & girls.

Round #1 takes place this Sunday (7th June) in Eaton Park in Norwich. Online entries close this Friday (5th June) at 7pm.

Only 1 week to go until Round 1 🚴

There is only 1 week to go until the first round of the 2026 Muddy Monsters series. Have you entered your child to take part yet?

Round #1 will take place on Sunday 7th June @ Eaton Park, Norwich (1.00-3.30pm). You can enter your child to take part in the following categories;

- U4 Balance bike (mixed)
- U8 boys/girls
- U10 boys/girls
- U12 boys/girls
- U14 boys/girls

Entry is only £5 (U4 Balance Bike) or £10 (U8, U10, U12, U14).

Please could we ask everybody to enter online in advance as it helps us prepare the paperwork needed and speeds up the registration process on the day.

WHAT DOES A MUDDY MONSTERS RACE ENTAIL?

At each round of the Muddy Monsters series, riders will take part in three races:

- Sprint Race - Riders set off in waves and complete 1 lap around the main course against the clock. The rider with the fastest time in each category wins.
- Endurance Race - Riders line up together and race around multiple laps of the main course. The rider that completes the laps first is the winner.
- Skills Course - A timed lap around a skills course which challenges riders to display a variety of skills. The fastest time wins.

Riders results from each race are added together to give them an overall position for the round.

SCHOOL CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS 🏆

We are really excited to be running our 2026 Muddy Monsters School Cycling Championships on Tuesday 30th June in Eaton Park in Norwich.

Schools are invited to enter teams of 10 pupils (5 boys/5 girls) from Years 5 and/or 6. The event is suitable for pupils who can already confidently ride a bike. No previous racing experience is required.

Riders will take part in three races: Skills Race, Sprint Race, Relay Race. They will score points from each race which will be combined and added to their teams mates to give an overall team score.

Bikes are provided, so all pupils need to bring is their own helmet (we have some helmets we can lend pupils who don't have their own).

We are excited to open entries for the 2026 Muddy Monsters series.

Races will take place on the following dates (1.00-3.30pm):

- Sunday 7th June @ Eaton Park, Norwich
- Sunday 19th July @ Sloughbottom Park, Norwich
- Sunday 13th September @ Easton College, Easton
- Sunday 18th October @ Earlham Park, Norwich

Entry is open to boys and girls in the following categories; U4 Balance Bike, U8, U10, U12, U14.

Entry is only £5 (Balance Bike) or £10 (U8, U10, U12, U14).

Series medals will be presented to rider that take part in 3 or more of the rounds. Series medals will be presented at the final round.

The series is organised by Green Light Cycling and sponsored by Little Riders.

We are really excited to announce the dates of our 2026 Muddy Monsters series. Races will be held on:

- Sunday 7th June
- Sunday 19th July
- Sunday 13th September
- Sunday 18th October

We are confirming venues at the moment but we wanted to share the dates with you so you could get them in your diaries nice and early.
