This was the second Royton Derby in a row for Magic, and they produced a strong performance from the opening tip-off right through to the final buzzer.

Both teams battled hard all over the court, with plenty of determination, teamwork and competitive spirit on display. It was great to see two Royton teams pushing each other and playing the game in the right way.

The Hawks led for much of the game and made the Raptors work for every point. Despite the challenging conditions, the boys 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐠𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐮𝐩, kept battling and showed incredible perseverance.

As the game went on, the Raptors found another gear, pulling ahead in the closing stages to secure a brilliant win. It was a real team effort and a great example of resilience and belief.

The effort, attitude and teamwork shown by the whole squad were superb, especially in the heat. Results like this are built on hard work, determination and never giving up.

📈 This win should move the Raptors into 2nd place in Division 2 — a fantastic achievement and one the team should be incredibly proud of!

The Celtics led for much of the game and looked in control throughout. Unfortunately, OSW Purple managed to edge ahead in the final two minutes to sn**ch the win.

The scoreline may not have gone our way, but the performance was nothing short of 𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜. Playing in a real sweat box and with 𝐧𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬 available, the team showed incredible 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 from start to finish.

The scoreline doesn’t quite reflect how competitive this game was. Thunder were 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 in the first half and went into the break just 2 points behind, matching the Huskies with some 𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 basketball.

The second half remained closely contested, but the Huskies managed to put together a few quick baskets which created the gap on the scoreboard. Despite that, Thunder never 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 battling and 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐝 to work hard right until the final whistle.

This was a really enjoyable game to watch, with great 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭, 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 and 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 shown throughout by the whole squad. The team’s improvement continues to shine through every week.
