The only thing you need to lose.. is your neuroticism!

What is it and why it’s hindering your ability to progress?

It’s basis is an emotional or physical response that is irrational or unmeasured to situations.

Neurotic behaviour is an automatic effort made by your unconscious mind to manage fears and stresses.
This affects everyone, but is typically more of a feminine trait.

Whilst this is a problem in every day life
It is absolutely rife in the fitness environment..

- People obcessed with meeting goals and negatively affected by missed sessions
-Anger and frustration at exercises or lifts not going well
-The most prevalent being a focus on gaining or losing weight

Frequented effects of this are anger, low self confidence , inconsistent self image, emotional instability and if ignored consistently can cause depressive episodes.

If you are new to weight training. Don’t believe fake information.
Pictures posed and even sometimes edited saying
“4 week transformation”
“2 week glute progress”
Even “2 week weight loss”
She lost some water hunnnny or had a chronic sh****ng episode!

Progress takes time and commitment.

It can be disheartening at even an intermediate or advanced level to not be affected to some degree that someone is much bigger/ more jacked than you and those factors may be training experience, weight or even drug related assistance.

But.. thinking back to first being on my fitness journey,
There wasn’t half as much pressure on the new gym goer or weight enthusiast.
Do not be disheartened thinking people are making more progress than you. It’s usually an illusion (unless you aren’t doing anything to help yourself then maybe be a little disheartened ;) ) but if you are doing things properly, taking the right advice, sticking to calories and exercising adequately..

The results will come. It’s crazy to think people have so much patience for things but not themselves.

These pictures are 4 years apart and the difference between them is 18kg.

Now tell me again how it’s been 4 months and you can’t see any changes..

Patience isn’t a virtue. It’s a necessity.

PART OF THE PROCESS! 🥜🥗🌯🍗
Sometimes if you want to achieve more in one area, you have to take a hit somewhere else. This is the heaviest I’ve been in 3.5 years now! Pushing food is always going to take you out of your comfort zone so much of what feels like progress is shrinking, depletion and trying to be less than but I’ve found such a pleasant surprise in the freedom and lack of stress surrounding eating more flexibly - for me I needed this phase more for my mental development than anything else it’s been a long time to undo what I can now recognise as habits driven by toxicity but is largely deemed normal and even encouraged within the fitness industry. Everyone thinks dieting is the hard part which I find a walk in the park-what a cut is to everyone else, my bulk is to me. Only now am I reaching the peak of my growth in EVERY sense of the word

New weeks are for new ideas! Everything is looking up- we got our weights finally and can start working hard to earn back anything we lose - the end is in sight - To never being normal but back to normality and although a lot of us are never always feeling ourselves - we have our moments!

TB to 2 weeks ago Big well done to my client Ash for the results of this first training block! Going into his second soon! He has taken his nutrition and training very seriously going in and this has continued throughout. Initial goals going into this were to shred down and lose some body fat which we have smashed in the first programme duration at a 4 Kilo drop and 6% drop in body fat with an increase in muscle mass! Upon re-evaluation, we are going into the next phase with the idea of further fat loss and then onto making some strength gains! SWIPE LEFT FOR PROGRESS ▶️▶️

✨✨YOU vs YOU ✨✨. Something that I have noticed massively having some younger female clients is the amount of pressure they put on themselves to be at a level that far exceeds their current stage of the process! I can see so much of my thirst for improvement in them and it makes me so inspired seeing that people can be so passionate so young and I’m being invited to be a part of the cultivation of that discipline! Who says becoming a PT makes you not wanna train? Ey
It is imperative to find the middle ground between realising you are better than you were and so much less than you could be! The happiness is located in the middle and to know the only competition you have is with older and less evolved versions of you! I know it’s hard when Jane has got juicy ass traps and Gina has some redonkulous glutes but you have to realise there are things you bring to the table yo’ damn self and here’s hoping that only 20% of those are that which are skin deep! You are the sum total of everything you think, believe, say, do and the people you surround yourself with! and remind yourself that your in your own lane and before long you’ll be on Route 66 with not one other machine in sight so fill her up and rev that engine, you’ve got a long way to go 🏋🏻‍♀️🚗💨

SUFFER FROM LOWER BACK PAIN? 😩😢🤢 Almost everyone encounters this at some point for one reason or another! If you are female or male, usually due to weak glutes! It is most likely from lumbar lordosis ( excessive curvature of the lower back). Women tend to encounter this more on account of the way our hips are positioned and also from our footwear choices 💃🏽👠
The easiest way to check for this postural issue is to lie on your back on a flat surface and where it should be a relatively small gap, someone with this issue should be able to slide their hand under their lower back, with plenty of space to spare .
Extreme examples of this will be where there’ll be a visible C-like arch when they stand And from the side view, their abdomen and buttocks will stick out- ( as demonstrated in the first picture). A more neutral spine is shown in the second picture which is where the stomach is braced and the hamstrings are shortened! This can be improved over time with breathing drills, stretches and the development of muscles that will prevent this from being such an issue such as core strengthening and posterior chain development

ALWAYS LOOK BACK! 💪🏻if you make the decision to get stronger and ultimately transition to weight training from the safe treadmill terrain, it is said time and time again and rightly so, to never stop working on the basics! The continuum of callisthenics! Free weights and machines do the job but you need to apply for it and your cv must include a solid basis to build - demonstrated are pull-ups that benefit the development of the entire upper body, primarily your lats! Don’t neglect all the assisting body weight exercises and help prevent any muscular imbalance, which can lead to postural issues and dysfunction.

So proud of this one! 👆🏻 coming to the end of the first block and the amount of progress already made is insane! Weights are climbing and more importantly confidence! Also an absolute dream to have the company of for 2/3 hours a week - twin personality 👯‍♀️ I’ve never met anyone so dedicated to achieving a goal at the age of 20 y/o and she’s spends all day on the law graft too!
