Paignton Darts Academy The Paignton Darts Academy is Devon’s oldest darts club for juniors. The PDA is sponsored by Unicorn Darts. All our mentors are DBS checked.

The academy is directed by Brian Ivey a level 1 PDPA, Level 1 & 2 JDC qualified & Sightright acredited coach. club for children aged 6-18 to play darts in a safe secure environment.

Today the academy had a visit from Unicorn Darts coach Shaun Rogers. He certainly made an impression as we had a few PB’s and some great scores in the Unicorn Challenge.
Another new starter today who made a great first impression by winning the football card for the signed shirt from French player Thibault Tricole, helping to raise £80 for The Purple Angels dementia charity.
There was an introduction certificate awarded to newcomer James Milton.
The developer section of the Unicorn Challenge was won by Billy Durham with a new PB of 59. The intermediate section was won by Reuben Stibbs with a score of 43 and Toby Fryer took the advanced section with a score of 54.
Rueben Perry won the 12 dart challenge with a score of 112.
Shaun picked Billy Durham to be the Star of the week for showing great determination and focus.

This week saw another 2 new starters to the academy. It’s always lovely to see new faces.
We also had both a star of the week and a special recognition award this week for great behaviour and effort.
Star of the week went to Billy Durham for excellent game play and the special recognition award went to Logan Webb-Watson who turned his game and attitude around and ended up having a great day. The 12 dart challenge was won by Sidney Maney with a score of 138.
In the Unicorn challenge we had a double whammy in the developer lever with 2 players hitting a score of 16, Logan Hatfield and our newcomer Liam Brown.
The intermediate level went to Leo Stone with a score of 37, and the advanced level went to that guy Toby Fryer again with a score of 60. Well done everyone 👏🏻 🎯☺️

This week at the Academy saw 3 new members collecting their introduction to darts certificates. They were Rueben Perry, Harley Perry and Sidney Maney. We introduced the 12 dart challenge back for the younger players and that was won by Arthur Slack with an incredible 139. In the Unicorn Challenge Brian Guntrip won the developer level with 15, the intermediate level went to Leo Stone with 42, the advanced level was won by Toby Fryer with 48.

It was back to business this weekend after our summer break. There was some great scores including new PB’s in the Unicorn Challenge as well as some new faces to the academy. There were two winners in the developer level, both with a score of 19, Logan Hatfield and Billy Durham. Reuben Stibbs took the intermediate level with a score of 46, and the advanced level went to Toby Fryer with a score of 65.

We had a visitor in the club tonight. He popped in for some darts practice. Our old friend Friedrich Lang from Austria, paid us a visit. It was great to see him and hear how he’s doing, after a year volunteering in Bosnia he is now about to start university.
