Week 7 | Team Announcements 🏏

Here’s how our five league sides line up this weekend, as we all hope for some much improved weather in South Wales ☔️

Player Profile | Kreshay Bharwani 🏏

This week’s player profile has been with the club from a very young age having gone through our junior programme.

Kreshay is a no-nonsense type batter that likes to get on with it, and is known for ‘the odd’ bouncer in the net 🤔

An interesting taste in music, tea items and what’s classed as a favourite memory, with his being relegation with the 2s last year, but we’re hoping he’ll help lead the 2s with fixing that this year.

When not playing cricket, he’s a padel playing so-and-so 🤦‍♂️

With tons of natural ability, we hope he can score a bunch of runs and take the odd wicket here and there to push the club forward.

Week 7 | League Fixtures 🏏

This week the 1s host top of the table Newport at in their game, with the 2s also playing top of the table opposition in .

The 3s host another team top of the league in , the 4s travel to and the 5s host Abercarn II.

Let’s hope for some improved weather this week 😅

Player Profile | Nick Morgan 🏏

This week’s player profile is a man of many talents, and is our 9-time former Club Captain.

When Merv’s not running marathons around the world, he’s the proud captain of the district, leading them to 3 Inter-District Tournament wins in a row, and is a mainstay in the side, where he scored their first ever World Cup 50 in South Africa, and played a key part (60*) in a famous T20 win against England.

Merv heads to the next Over-40 World Cup in Guyana later on this year, and if you’d be interested in either sponsoring him or the team, please do get in touch with him 🙌

A great choice in entrance music, as well as being a lover of a coronation chicken sandwich (great choice), Merv’s also very partial to a lager or cider (temperature depending), and what a favourite memory to have that is 🥰 very strong agree on banning too 💯

Week 5 | Results & Top Performances 🏏

A great win for the 1s at , beating by 76 runs off the back of a classy century from club captain , who was ably supported by young (51). With the ball, everyone was delighted to see collecting his first Division 1 wickets with 3/34.

Elsewhere, disappointment for the 2s, 3s and 4s, all suffering tough defeats. But the mighty 5s delivered an excellent 10 wicket win at home to thanks to an exceptional 106* from Darryn Lewis, with our President Peter Docherty ending 61* 🙌

Time to keep pushing forwards in to June 👊
