Perth & District Badminton Association - Scotland This is the official page for Perth District Badminton Association. We are a Perth, Scotland based group with associate member badminton clubs.

Association formed in 1949. At one time, there were 38 teams playing in 6 divisions. Currently we now have 12 teams playing in 2 divisions. League matches are played at Bell's Sports Centre, Perth from October to March each year. At height of play, we had an excellent coaching set-up producing many players who became full or junior internationalists. Ran junior, senior and Open Championships for many years including the Bell's Wh**ky Championships from 1975 - 1989 which attracted some of the best players in the World. Current long term sponsors - Campus Sports, Perth who sponsor the leagues and knockout competition; Mercure Perth Hotel, who sponsor the Junior Tournament; Perth Trophy Shop who donate the prizes for the Junior Tournament. P & D Association, backed by Badminton Scotland, have organised the annual Yonex Scottish National Championships since 2001. This is currently played a Bell's Sport Centre. Current clubs in each of our Divisions are:-

Division 1 - 20 Club, Taybank, Auchterarder, Glenearn A, Forgandenny and Kinross A
Division 2 - Glenearn B, Glenearn C, Strathallan, Kinross B, Crieff and Bankfoot

New to badminton, still improving or returning to the sport after break from it? Our Sunday playing sessions are aimed at adult beginners, returners and improvers. If you, or someone you know, fancy giving them a try, you are welcome along. Sundays (excluding school holiday periods), 10am to noon, Perth High School Sports Hub. £7.50 per player per session (students £5.50).

There are also spaces at our Friday sessions for intermediate and above adult players and at our Saturday coaching sessions for adults.

A free festival for women and girls with a disability is coming to Perth this October.

The Perth & Kinross Disability Sport Women and Girls in Sport Festival is a full day of sport, run by some of the best female coaches in the region.

📅 Sunday 11 October, 11am–4pm
📍 Academy of Sport & Wellbeing, UHI Perth

Athletics, karate, wheelchair sports, boccia, dance, fencing and more. Try as many as you like, meet local clubs, and hear from local athletes in a live Q&A.

Women and girls are still under-represented in sport across Perth and Kinross. This festival is about changing that, regardless if you're trying sport for the first time or getting back into it.

We're proud to support it through our Sport for Change grant scheme with The Gannochy Trust.
