They said a new gym outfit won’t fix your problems…

Maybe not.

But I’ll be turning up to training like this 😂💃

🏆 MEMBER OF THE MONTH — AMBER 🏆

A huge congratulations to Amber, our Member of the Month! 👏

Amber’s consistency has been absolutely brilliant. She turns up week after week, gets stuck into every session and is almost always one of the hardest workers in the room! 💪

She trains with real intent, pushes herself, and has made some fantastic progress as a result.

But just as importantly, Amber is a brilliant person to have around the gym. She’s always encouraging and supporting the people training alongside her and brings exactly the kind of energy we want within the Eyre Athletic community.

Hard-working, consistent and always there to support others.

Very well deserved, Amber! 🏆👏

The damper on the Ergs isn’t a difficulty setting 👀

Putting it straight up to 10 doesn’t automatically mean a better or harder workout.

The damper simply changes how the stroke feels — the actual intensity comes from how much power YOU produce.

For most people, somewhere between 3–6 is a great place to start.

The goal? Find a setting where you can:

💪 Produce good power
🚣 Maintain solid technique
⏱️ Hold a consistent pace

Don’t make it heavier just for the sake of making it heavier.

Train smarter, not just harder.

If you were starting your fitness journey today, here’s what we’d want you to know 👇

You don’t need the perfect programme.

You don’t need to train 6 days a week.

And you definitely don’t need to change your entire life overnight.

You need to:

✅ Learn the basics properly
✅ Have some structure to your training
✅ Focus on what YOU want to achieve
✅ Build habits you can actually maintain
✅ Stop comparing your progress to everyone else’s

The biggest mistake we see beginners make is trying to do too much, too soon.

Training should fit around your life — not take it over.

Start where you are. Build gradually. Stay consistent.

And when you’re not sure what to do next?

That’s where good coaching makes all the difference 💪

Trying to balance running AND strength training? 🏃‍♀️🏋️‍♂️

You don’t have to choose between getting stronger and getting fitter — but you do need to be smart about how you combine the two.

The biggest mistake? Trying to do too much, too soon.

Manage your workload. Fuel properly. Prioritise recovery. Stay consistent. And have a plan that makes your running and strength work together, not against each other.

Get those basics right and you can absolutely improve both. 💪
