Oops, I did it again.

Absolutely worth feeling like death this morning for!

Took a small spindle worm on a 2g violence jighead and surprising was on the slack tide under a full moon.

Hit like a steam train with several runs despite not being the biggest once landed.

Hardware was a Seabass Custom Marc Cowling edition paired with the new 2025 Twin Power XD C3000XG which have both been an absolute delight to fish with so far this season.

First fish over 50 of the season and was just under 60, would have probably hit 60 if I held it still on a measure long enough haha.

Hit a small Easy Shiner on the Decoy Violence 3.5g 2/0 jighead.

Setup: Seabass Custom Marc Cowling edition
Twinpower C3000 FD XG 2025

First time I've had drag taken on the new reel and it handled superbly.

Because I'm worth it 😉

Went out to meet some gents to sell some rods. The ground was very wrassy so I bumped some lures along the bottom twitching super slowly until that undeniable tap tap tap whallop.

Took a pocket full of Z-man gobius lures out last night to try out a new reel (Abu Revo 02 Inshore 30).

I fished a spot in Brixham which I'd had nibbles on the very similar megabass darksleeper just before Xmas.

Knowing my chances of a bass were very slim I deliberately fished through a very snaggy patch to see if there were any wrasse willing to play.
I set the reela drag to "your not getting an inch pal" and launched the little rockfish immitstion out, kept the slack out and twitched it a few times across the rocks. Tap, tap tap............

Of course it's always that first cast...... A very welcome wrasse and comfortably my biggest from Brixham.

A couple of snaps of a fish caught on the last cast of our 3 day (24 hours total) guided bass lure fishing adventure with towards the end of November.

This bass came in over a ledge to hunt in a small shallow area close to the shore, the sandeel activity had picked up over the session and a lure switch to bouncing a sandeel shapped paddletail lure through the shallows triggered it to hit hard.

I strongly recommend as a guiding business and also all 3 of Marc's books!

Decided against doing the 'winter league' this year as wanted to focus on just enjoying sessions rather than species hunting (I hugely encourage everyone else to take part though as it's an awesome and very rewarding event!!!!)

I had a nemesis last year. Living where I live these little cuties should have been a simple find for me but even though I put a lot of time and probably far too much time into them ignoring other species I didn't get one and ended up falling one species short of my target.

However this year I've been out a few times to meet up with other fishing locally to me and of course am catching them everywhere at the moment. This one took a jighead midwater on the drop like a pelagic might.
