We’ve had the lovely Cerys and Evie in the office with us lately, and we love seeing our young people recommending Next Gen to the people closest to them!

Tre, who was part of our last VOYCE cohort, clearly thinks highly of what we do, as he’s sent both his sister and his girlfriend our wayšŸ˜†

Leah has been working with Evie to build her social media presence as she continues developing her skills and qualifications as a trainee tattoo artist, helping her showcase her work and build towards her future career.

Cerys has been working with us on her next steps to find a placement for her animal care apprenticeship, and this is where our network can make a real difference:

🐾 Do you know of a business or organisation that could offer an animal care apprenticeship placement? We’d love to hear from you, so please get in touch if you can help!

This is what Next Gen is all about, building confidence and helping young people take their next steps with the right support around them.

Meet Next Gen Role Model Nerijus Balsys šŸŽ„ Nerijus Balsys

Ned is a creative entrepreneur and storyteller who helps businesses build their presence through strategic storytelling, authority content and film. As the founder of Metropolis Visual and Ocean House Studio, his work focuses on helping people and organisations communicate their ideas and stand out.

Through his work in video production, content and business, Ned has developed a strong understanding of the importance of creativity, communication and personal brand. He works with businesses to turn their knowledge and ideas into content that connects with their audience and creates lasting impact.

As a Next Gen Role Model, Ned brings his experience as a business owner and creative professional to help young people understand the opportunities available within creative industries, business and entrepreneurship.

He is passionate about sharing his knowledge, encouraging young people to think creatively and showing them that there are many different routes into successful careers.

Ned’s mentorship is centred around helping young people build confidence in their ideas and understand how creativity and consistency can help them create their own opportunitiesšŸŽ™ļø

At the heart of what we do is a simple belief that young people need role models, and our city needs more of themšŸ™ļø

We believe in local legends who can use their own lived experience to help guide the next generation. It is about creating genuine connections between young people and adults and giving young people the chance to learn from people who have been there before.

These relationships can open doors, raise aspirations and help a young person see what is possible for them. This is what Empowering the Next Generation means to us!

We also want to say a huge thank you to #šŸ“ø for capturing these photos. Dan is an incredible young person who is building his own skills and business as a photographer, and we are proud to have him on the team for this projectšŸ“ø

This shoot brought together some of the people who make Next Gen what it is and we cannot wait to share more šŸ–¤

Young Person Spotlight | KAYODE

Kay first came to Next Gen looking for mentorship and support as he built his career paths and explored what could come next.

Through this time working alongside the VOYCE team, Kay has developed his confidence, professional skills and understanding of how he can turn his own interests and skills into opportunities.

He’s learnt how to monetise his social media presence and music career, developed his personal brand, started working towards setting up his own business and gained experience across a range of youth-led projects with Next Gen.

Alongside this, Kay has continued to develop his career in music and build connections through the opportunities available to him.

And now, he’s secured a new opportunity as a Brand AmbassadoršŸ‘

We’re so proud to see how far Kay has come and, most importantly, that he’s continuing to build his own path and create opportunities for himselfāļø

If you haven’t already, you need to check him out! Kay Nyne

A really exciting milestone for Mentoring Through Change! šŸ¤

Last week, Jade Sansom delivered her first Mentoring With Confidence Workshop, marking the beginning of what we hope will be the first of many.

Mentoring Through Change has been something Jade has been developing with the support of Simon Ingram, bringing together their lived experience and ideas around how we can better support young people through periods of change, loss and uncertainty.

The workshop focuses on helping mentors build the confidence and skills to develop positive relationships with young people, including communication, boundaries, safeguarding, trust and creating safe spaces.

We’re so proud to see Jade take something she’s been working on behind the scenes and bring it to life. One workshop down, many more to come!šŸ¤

A couple weeks on from a brilliant day, we wanted to share that the event raised an amazing £3,300! And to take a moment to say another huge thank you to Mountjoy for an amazing Charity Clay Shoot in aid of Politely Rebellious Next Gen CIC 🌟

This money will go directly back into supporting young people across our community, helping us continue to create opportunities through mentoring, work experience, education, employment and our youth driven projects.

A huge thank you to Luke and the team at for their incredible support and sponsorship, and to Mountjoy Hard Hat for continuing to champion what we do and helping bring everyone together for such a brilliant day.

And of course, thank you to every business and team who came along, took part, sponsored, donated and supported the event. It was a brilliant day, and we’re so grateful to everyone who helped make it happen.

Ā£3,300 raised. One brilliant community. So many young people who will benefit.

Thank you for believing in what we’re building šŸ¤

There’s a lot happening at Politely Rebellious Next Gen CIC, and there are lots of ways to get involved🫵

Whether you’re a young person looking for support, a school wanting to work with us, a business wanting to make a difference, or someone who simply wants to give your time and experience, there’s a place for you at Next Gen CIC

Here’s what’s currently available:

FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
VOYCE: our youth-driven programme supporting 16–21 year olds with confidence, mentoring, work experience and real opportunities.

1:1 mentoring: personalised support for young people navigating change, building confidence or figuring out what comes next.

FOR SCHOOLS
Our assemblies, workshops, mentoring and role model sessions are designed to support young people with confidence, aspirations, resilience, behaviours, relationships, life skills and preparing for life beyond the classroom.

FOR BUSINESSES
From sponsorship and partnerships to mentoring, work experience and volunteering, there are lots of ways for businesses to directly support young people and create meaningful opportunities.

We’re building something that is bigger than just one programme.

It’s about creating access to opportunities, connecting young people with the right people and helping them feel more confident about what comes next.

If you’re a young person, school, business, role model or organisation and you’d like to get involved, drop us a messagešŸ–¤

19th September 2024. Two years ago, this video and article came out in The News, a piece on Keshia’s journey that was launched as part of the Silent Crime Campaign.

Just a couple of months later, in November 2024, we officially registered the paperwork with Companies House and Politely Rebellious Next Gen CIC was born.

Fast forward nearly two years and PRNG has grown into something so huge, so quickly!

From that original story being shared, to building a team, working with thousands of young people, creating opportunities, launching programmes, bringing role models into schools, supporting young people into work and education, and continuing to build something we genuinely believe in... Everything happens for a reason.

Looking back at where we started and seeing where we are now is pretty specialšŸ–¤

The story was about Keshia’s past, what we’ve built since is about what can happen when you create opportunities and give the next generation someone to believe in.

Thank you again to The News for giving Keshia the platform to share her story, and to Habs for helping make that original piece happen.
