We’re proud to be supporting the Lyndhurst FC Clubhouse Run! 🏃‍♂️🌲

Taking place on Sunday 28th February 2027, the event offers both 5K and 10K routes through the beautiful Pondhead Inclosure, featuring gravel tracks, a great atmosphere and a fantastic cause.

The run is raising funds for a new Lyndhurst FC clubhouse, helping the club continue to grow and support the local community.

Whether you’re new to running or a seasoned club runner, there’s a distance for everyone.

It was an absolute pleasure to join Portsmouth Joggers Club celebrating their 50th year. This was a wonderful trip down memory lane🍾 Club's aren't really about buildings, committee meetings or race results. They are about people. They are about the person who encouraged you to come along to your first run. The person who stayed with you when you were struggling. The person who persuaded you to enter a race you didn't think you could finish. So much has changed over the last 50 years. However the reasons we run haven't changed that much. Friendship. Community. Challenge. Escaping everyday life. Achievement. And above all supporting each other. Lets keep running. Lets keep supporting each other. Lets continue to support that nervous new runner who turns up for the first time. And let's continue to help people discover all the wonderful things that running can bring into their lives 🙏

Are running socks really worth it? Our updated guide on the blog answers that, and for most runners the answer is yes, especially if blisters are a problem.

Cotton socks soak up sweat, then stretch and bunch inside your shoe, which is where the rubbing starts. In a study of 35 distance runners, those in cotton socks got twice as many blisters as runners in otherwise identical synthetic socks. Another study found that finishing in wet socks almost doubled the risk of blisters.

A good running sock wicks sweat away from your skin, fits snugly so it doesn’t slip, and has padding where your feet take the most impact. If blisters keep coming back, a double-layer sock like the Hilly Twin Skin lets the two layers rub against each other instead of against your skin.

Hello !

Ever gone for a run and had a sweaty or muddy drive home and a damp car seat?

Sprints, have sorted that. Their car seat cover towel has a pocket that slips over your headrest so it stays put. It's absorbent rather than waterproof on purpose, so sweat soaks in instead of pooling underneath you. Then it goes straight in the wash.

Then there is their trucker style running hats, with a built-in sweatband, adjustable snapback and fun slogans and designs.

Your road shoes aren't built for muddy autumn trails.

Road shoes are designed for flat, predictable tarmac. On mud, wet chalk or tree roots, their smooth outsole has nothing to grip with.

Here's what a trail shoes commonly feature:

✔ Deeper lugs that dig into soft ground and shed mud instead of clogging
✔ Stickier rubber, often from Vibram, for wet rock and roots
✔ A protective layer underfoot so sharp stones don't dig in
✔ A toe bumper for the rock or root you didn't see
✔ Tougher uppers that stand up to brambles and grit
✔ GORE-TEX versions to keep your feet dry through puddles and wet grass

The result is more grip and more confidence in your run.
