๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ 1st AG at Dorney 1/2 ๐Ÿฅ‡

Always great to see Danny pinning a number on and getting stuck in at the races! ๐ŸŽ‰ After some tough recent races at the Brighton Marathon and the Marlow 5 Milerโ€”where he finished in an awesome time of 32:09 (4 min/km) โฑ๏ธโ€”we knew the pace and muscular endurance was there. ๐Ÿ’ช

Taking on the iconic Dorney Lake 1/2 Marathon, he ran a fantastic 1:31 Gun Time โณ in not-so-favorable conditions, battling a headwind on the way back to the finish.๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ

A man with a similar mindset to myself of โ€˜getting it doneโ€™ ๐Ÿ’ฅโ€”itโ€™s always great to catch up and see him at the pointy end of races. ๐Ÿ…

We Train, We Race! If not, whatโ€™s the alternative? ๐Ÿค” Letโ€™s Go!

With an 8am start, we were kindly greeted with overcast and slightly cooler weather than the previous weeksโ€™ heatwave. ๐ŸŒค๏ธ The Manchester AJ Bell isnโ€™t a pure PB course with 100 metres of ascent and, on the day, a strong headwind in numerous stretches. ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ

However, both Matty and Lucinda showed their fitness and muscular endurance over the 13.1 miles, making the most of the favourable temperatures and supportive crowds, with both landing exceptional PBs! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘

Itโ€™s been a great start to 2026 for both athletes, and I canโ€™t wait to see how they perform with other races incoming! ๐Ÿ…โœจ

Iโ€™m no saint in that regard but gut health is definitely a performance factor in aerobic performance. An easy win which requires little physical effort, just good food choices. ๐Ÿฅฆ ๐Ÿ‡ Now whereโ€™s my Lotus Biscuit gone? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Huge congratulations to Liam for his outstanding performance at the EMF Half Marathon! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช Battling through 23-degree heat, he kicked off the race at 8 am, greeted by cooler temperatures that quickly heated up.

After a dedicated training block, demonstrated his incredible fitness and executed his race tactics perfectly, achieving a remarkable 19th place finish out of 10,000 participants! ๐ŸŽ‰ He crossed the finish line in just 1 hour, 15 minutes, and 3 seconds, averaging an impressive 3:33 min/km.

This comes off the back of a stellar start to 2026, with some top results, finishing ๐Ÿฅˆ in the Kilomathon (45:38) and ๐Ÿฅ‡ in the Meadows 10km (35:18). Balancing work and family life while maintaining such focus and commitment to training is no small feat. Massive kudos ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ…

What challenges await for the rest of 2026?

๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšดโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ Swim, Bike, Runโ€ฆ Southport!

Issy took on the brilliantly organised Southport Triathlon and blasted around the course in a rapid 2hrs 57 minutes, taking ๐Ÿฅ‡ first female in the Open Category!
The Standard distance event includes 3 disciplines: 1500 m lake swim ๐ŸŒŠ, 43 km bike ๐Ÿšฒ, and a 10.5 km run ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ to finish. Southport, located next to the beach ๐Ÿ–๏ธ, means athletes can be greeted with the warming sun โ˜€๏ธ and soaring temperatures or be hit with strong winds ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ coming off the Irish Sea. This year was no different! Strong winds made the bike and run legs more arduous than normal. For to hit the last transition and hold pace with just over 4:15 min/km run splits is a super strong way to finish! ๐Ÿ’ช

A few more spicy events in the pipeline, including the Regents Park 10km ๐Ÿ… and Bolton 70.3 in June! Letโ€™s go! ๐ŸŒŸ

After smashing a PB at the windy Cheshire 1/2 Marathon in March with a time of 1 hr 27 mins, we knew the speed and muscular endurance were there. ๐Ÿ’ช It was all about building that endurance for another 21.1 km!

This result is an absolute testament to determination and consistency throughout the training block, regularly completing 4-5 runs a week along with additional sports and training stimuli. ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ

A massive result and one to be cherished ๐Ÿ†

๐Ÿ† HYROX Helsinki Highlights! ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ

Massive result today for Scott, who took ๐Ÿฅˆ 2nd place in the 40-45 age group, completing the course in a rapid 60 minutes 38 seconds! ๐Ÿš€ This marks a phenomenal PB, knocking off an impressive 6 minutes 17 seconds from his time in Manchester just 3 months ago! ๐Ÿ’ช

His commitment and quality in his run block are clearly evident, finishing with an average pace of 3:43 min/km and a total run time of 29 minutes 43 seconds. For perspective, his run times at Manchester were 4:15 min/km and 34 minutesโ€”over 4 minutes faster! ๐Ÿ“‰๐Ÿ’ฅ

Iโ€™m so impressed and super happy for Scott! ๐ŸŽ‰ His dedication to training truly deserves a result like this. Overall, he finished 14th out of 912 male athletes - just exceptional! ๐ŸŒŸ

Now, onto the next goal while maintaining that HYROX high-end fitness! Letโ€™s go๐Ÿ’ฅ

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง London to 11 weeks?

In just 11 weeks of dedicated training (including tapering), Gill smashed his PB at the 2026 Marathon! ๐Ÿ… He finished in an incredible 3 hours, 2 minutes, and 58 seconds, chopping off a whopping 11 minutes and 35 seconds from last year! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ‘

As a committed and fit athlete who juggles multiple disciplines, Gill had the solid foundation for this achievement. We focused on just 3 quality runs while balancing strength and conditioning , Padel, looking after a supportive family, and a busy work schedule. ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŽพ

Not only did he achieve a fantastic time, but he also raised essential funds for the . Throughout this coaching process, Iโ€™ve been continually impressed by his dedication and the quality of delivery in those structured sessions, many of which were done on a treadmill! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿฅต

A remarkable run for an amazing charityโ€” a great experience to be celebrated! ๐Ÿ™Œ I have a feeling though there are even bigger goals on the horizon! ๐Ÿ’ช Letโ€™s go!

๐ŸŒž Temperatures Rise on the Thames! ๐ŸŒŠ

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ Huge congrats to Tom for an incredible finish at the in 3 hours 26 minutes! After a solid training block, highlighted by a fantastic 1 hour 29 minute performance at the , we knew he had the fitness to shine. โœจ

On race day, .mccready set off with the pacer, ready to execute the race strategy. However, the athletes faced a blazing 17-degree heat, radiating off the concrete and buildings of our beautiful capital. ๐ŸŒ† Despite the warmth, Tom pushed through to achieve a stellar sub-3:30 finish! ๐Ÿ…

Itโ€™s a reminder that no matter how well we prepare, race day can throw in significant challengesโ€”heat, wind, rain, and more can impact performance. ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธโ˜”๏ธ We never know how our bodies will respond to those sudden increases in temperature so adjusting strategy for the heat is essential, especially for those of us who are used to cooler climates. Just one of the many hurdles we love to face as marathon runners! Onto the next ๐Ÿ’ช ๐Ÿ‘Š

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ… Lining Up at London! ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

๐ŸŽ‰ Huge congratulations to Joe for finishing the in an incredible time of 3 hours 55 minutes! After a solid 16-week training block, whilst managing a few niggles along the way, he did an amazing job just getting to the start line. ๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ™๏ธ Facing the sun-soaked streets of London, he was aware of the potential discomfort as the race progressed. Yet, he pushed through the heat and ever present pain to cross that finish line in a super solid time ! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ”ฅ

Every marathon journey is filled with highs and lowsโ€”from the training phase to race day, and even the post-marathon blues. Itโ€™s crucial to remember that simply getting to the start line is a victory in itself. ๐ŸŽฏ And reaching that start line with the necessary training under your belt? Thatโ€™s a massive win! ๐Ÿ† Crossing the finish line ๐Ÿ is just the icing on the cake! ๐ŸŽ‚
