๐๐ปโโ๏ธ 1st AG at Dorney 1/2 ๐ฅ
Always great to see Danny pinning a number on and getting stuck in at the races! ๐ After some tough recent races at the Brighton Marathon and the Marlow 5 Milerโwhere he finished in an awesome time of 32:09 (4 min/km) โฑ๏ธโwe knew the pace and muscular endurance was there. ๐ช
Taking on the iconic Dorney Lake 1/2 Marathon, he ran a fantastic 1:31 Gun Time โณ in not-so-favorable conditions, battling a headwind on the way back to the finish.๐ฌ๏ธ
A man with a similar mindset to myself of โgetting it doneโ ๐ฅโitโs always great to catch up and see him at the pointy end of races. ๐

๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ Manchester AJ Bell 1/2โ ๐ง๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ
With an 8am start, we were kindly greeted with overcast and slightly cooler weather than the previous weeksโ heatwave. ๐ค๏ธ The Manchester AJ Bell isnโt a pure PB course with 100 metres of ascent and, on the day, a strong headwind in numerous stretches. ๐ฌ๏ธ
However, both Matty and Lucinda showed their fitness and muscular endurance over the 13.1 miles, making the most of the favourable temperatures and supportive crowds, with both landing exceptional PBs! ๐๐
Itโs been a great start to 2026 for both athletes, and I canโt wait to see how they perform with other races incoming! ๐

๐โโ๏ธ๐ดโโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ Swim, Bike, Runโฆ Southport!
Issy took on the brilliantly organised Southport Triathlon and blasted around the course in a rapid 2hrs 57 minutes, taking ๐ฅ first female in the Open Category!
The Standard distance event includes 3 disciplines: 1500 m lake swim ๐, 43 km bike ๐ฒ, and a 10.5 km run ๐โโ๏ธ to finish. Southport, located next to the beach ๐๏ธ, means athletes can be greeted with the warming sun โ๏ธ and soaring temperatures or be hit with strong winds ๐ฌ๏ธ coming off the Irish Sea. This year was no different! Strong winds made the bike and run legs more arduous than normal. For to hit the last transition and hold pace with just over 4:15 min/km run splits is a super strong way to finish! ๐ช
A few more spicy events in the pipeline, including the Regents Park 10km ๐
and Bolton 70.3 in June! Letโs go! ๐

After smashing a PB at the windy Cheshire 1/2 Marathon in March with a time of 1 hr 27 mins, we knew the speed and muscular endurance were there. ๐ช It was all about building that endurance for another 21.1 km!
This result is an absolute testament to determination and consistency throughout the training block, regularly completing 4-5 runs a week along with additional sports and training stimuli. ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ

๐ HYROX Helsinki Highlights! ๐ซ๐ฎ
Massive result today for Scott, who took ๐ฅ 2nd place in the 40-45 age group, completing the course in a rapid 60 minutes 38 seconds! ๐ This marks a phenomenal PB, knocking off an impressive 6 minutes 17 seconds from his time in Manchester just 3 months ago! ๐ช
His commitment and quality in his run block are clearly evident, finishing with an average pace of 3:43 min/km and a total run time of 29 minutes 43 seconds. For perspective, his run times at Manchester were 4:15 min/km and 34 minutesโover 4 minutes faster! ๐๐ฅ

๐ฌ๐ง London to 11 weeks?
In just 11 weeks of dedicated training (including tapering), Gill smashed his PB at the 2026 Marathon! ๐
He finished in an incredible 3 hours, 2 minutes, and 58 seconds, chopping off a whopping 11 minutes and 35 seconds from last year! ๐๐
As a committed and fit athlete who juggles multiple disciplines, Gill had the solid foundation for this achievement. We focused on just 3 quality runs while balancing strength and conditioning , Padel, looking after a supportive family, and a busy work schedule. ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ๐พ
Not only did he achieve a fantastic time, but he also raised essential funds for the . Throughout this coaching process, Iโve been continually impressed by his dedication and the quality of delivery in those structured sessions, many of which were done on a treadmill! ๐โโ๏ธ๐ฅต

๐โโ๏ธ๐ฅ Huge congrats to Tom for an incredible finish at the in 3 hours 26 minutes! After a solid training block, highlighted by a fantastic 1 hour 29 minute performance at the , we knew he had the fitness to shine. โจ
On race day, .mccready set off with the pacer, ready to execute the race strategy. However, the athletes faced a blazing 17-degree heat, radiating off the concrete and buildings of our beautiful capital. ๐ Despite the warmth, Tom pushed through to achieve a stellar sub-3:30 finish! ๐
Itโs a reminder that no matter how well we prepare, race day can throw in significant challengesโheat, wind, rain, and more can impact performance. ๐ฌ๏ธโ๏ธ We never know how our bodies will respond to those sudden increases in temperature so adjusting strategy for the heat is essential, especially for those of us who are used to cooler climates. ๐ Huge congratulations to Joe for finishing the in an incredible time of 3 hours 55 minutes! After a solid 16-week training block, whilst managing a few niggles along the way, he did an amazing job just getting to the start line. ๐
๐๏ธ Facing the sun-soaked streets of London, he was aware of the potential discomfort as the race progressed. Yet, he pushed through the heat and ever present pain to cross that finish line in a super solid time ! ๐ช๐ฅ
