Reading Lead Open 2026 – Saturday, 31st October 2026

The countdown is on! This October, we’re bringing something special to Reading with the launch of the Reading Lead Open 2026 – a brand-new lead climbing competition!

Whether you’re taking on your first climbing competition or chasing a place in the finals, the Reading Lead Open promises an unforgettable day packed with great routes, an incredible atmosphere, and an exciting live finals showcase on our unique competition wall.

Our experienced setting team is creating around 14 exclusive competition routes from 6a that showcase everything our centre has to offer.

With a special café menu, BBQ and drinks as well as sponsors and exhibitors this will be a fun packed day on the wall and off.

PRIDE CLIMBING COMP

Abbey💜 does not only run our LGBTQ+ Social, they have also taken it upon themselves to organise Reading’s first Pride Climbing Competition! 🙌

With 🏳️‍🌈 Reading Pride 🏳️‍⚧️ just around the corner, this is the perfect occasion to come together for some friendly competition to be in with a chance to win some amazing raffle prizes and spend some quality time with some great people!

Join us for our autobelay league this August! Starting with the first round of routes on Friday 7th August, you will get a new set added on every Friday.

Work through them in whatever way works best for you - come every week, get them all done at the end of August in one big push or anything in between.
