A message from the manager ahead of the 2026/27 season 👇
It feels like we have been waiting a long time to get going, especially with the delayed start to the season, but competitive football is finally here.
Last season showed where we are as a team. We proved that we are one of the strongest sides in this league and that we deserve to be competing at the top end of it.
There is no point hiding from what we want this year - our aim is to win the league.
Pre-season has given me plenty of confidence in the group. Performances have been good, fitness levels have improved, the new lads have settled in well and there is strong competition for places throughout the squad. I genuinely think this is the strongest and deepest group we have had.
What I am most proud of, though, is the culture and togetherness we have built.
We have a group of players who enjoy playing together, want to be around each other and care about the team. That has taken time to build and, for me, it is one of the biggest reasons we have continued to improve.
There is also a confidence within the group now. We know we are a good side and we know what we are capable of, but that still has to be backed up every week once the season starts.
I genuinely believe this group is capable of achieving something special this season.
Finally, thank you to everyone who continues to support the club and what we are trying to build. Whether that is behind the scenes, on the touchline or simply following the team, it is genuinely appreciated.
Now the focus turns to Saturday.
