Aztec Day Services A NEW DAY IS DAWNING for people with a learning difficulty in Medway. Day Services for aged 16 years and over. 3 : 1 group support or 1:1 support.

Our focus is to develop people’s strengths and offer them the opportunity to learn new skills and explore fresh opportunities. While we aim to have fun we focus on enablement to ensure confidence and self esteem are built by encouraging Service Users to conduct their own business wherever possible. Including:

- Money management
- Numeracy
- Travel training
- Presence in the community

This embraces the governments “Valuing People” initiative. Activities interlink so lessons learned in one session will bring relevance to another so our Service Users can meet their potential and aspirations. Our service users have been exploring the sensory room, with time to enjoy the lights and activities at their own pace. 💜

Sensory spaces can help support regulation, offering opportunities to relax, explore and feel comfortable.

🎶 A proud moment at Aztec! 💙

This young man attended The Music Man Project Kent and took part in the whole session! 👏

He has only been supported by Aztec for a few weeks, and we are so proud of how far he has come already. Seeing him join in and reach this milestone means so much.

Well done — we can’t wait to celebrate more achievements with you! 🌟

A memo and letters were sent out last week regarding sickness and attendance at the Day Centre.

We would like to remind everyone that if the person you support at home is unwell, including with a heavy cold, flu-like symptoms, a temperature, persistent cough or generally feeling unwell, please keep them at home until they are feeling better.

Unfortunately, people attending the Day Centre while unwell is having a significant impact on our staffing levels, as illnesses are being passed on to staff and other service users. We also support individuals who may be particularly vulnerable to infections.

We completely understand that coughs and colds are common, but we really appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping us reduce the spread of illness and keep the Day Centre running safely.

This young man has only been with us for a few months, but he has already come such a long way. It doesn’t matter how long progress takes—every step forward is something to be proud of. His cheeky personality and mischievous laugh always brighten our days! 💙
