17S AWAIT FINAL LEAGUE MATCHES TO DECIDE LEAGUE TITLE
The 17s rounded off their 2026 Medway League campaign with a comfortable win at Gravesend away at Nurstead Cricket Ground.

Halstow won the toss and batted, scoring 130 for 7 off their 20 overs, with Callum Reilly top scoring with 36, and Sam Day supporting with 31.

With the ball, Gravesend were blown away – all out for 84 in the 17th over. Chrissy Lapthorn led the way with 3 for 10, Ronnie Randall 2 for 6 and Kian Cooper 2 for 24.

The 17s must now await other results in the division which will decide the outcome of the title. At the time of writing, High Halstow are top. The Mote can pip them though if they win their last game too.

Well done to all who have played for our 17s this year. They are indeed our junior 1st XI, and all have done us proud this year.

THIS WEEK AHEAD
The 17s start the week against Gravesend CC away at Nurstead on Tuesday needing a win and other results to secure them the Medway League.

Its the last three league Saturdays. The 1s are away at Bromley Town, looking to go 15&1. Please note start times are now 11am.

The 2s are at home again against Oakfield Warriors, starting at 12pm.

The 3s away at the Alps against local rivals Sherwood. 12.30pm start.

WEEK 16 ROUNDUP
A weekend that got better and better was the best way to describe the past Saturday and Sunday for High Halstow Cricket Club.

Saturday saw all three of the adult league sides win, followed by skipper Saw Frawley continuing his sides unbeaten Sunday run at home.

Away first at Catford Wanderers, the 1s won a tight game to go 14 & 1. The result left them 39 points clear of Rainham in 2nd at the top of Division 3 with 3 games left.

At home the 2s ran out comfortable winners against a decent side from Wickham Park, highlights including 51 from Lappers and skipper Kingers picking up 3 for 28.

But it was the 3s which won the game of the week beating local rivals Old Williamsons away by 71 runs. Defending 129, Halstow swept through the home side with Charlie Hutton taking the honours with 4 for 15 ably supported by Hugo Jarmak, Sophie Lemon and Freddie Yard each picking up a couple.

Sunday saw a decent game with Town Malling the visitors. Sam Frawley picked up a 103* in a total of 255… the oppo replying with 238. Ronnie Randall 2 for 23, Callum Reilly 2 for 31 and Tom Cheshire 2 for 43 led the way.

We go again next week. 3 league games left....

SUNDAY XI IN LAST BALL DRAMA
511 runs, 17 wickets and 80 overs of cricket all came down to the last ball at Rayners Meadow today, as the High Halstow Sunday XI played host to Carlton Sports.

The visitors won the toss and elected to field on a hot day and found early success with Halstow reduced to 82 for 3.

But the home Sunday skipper Sam Frawley held firm with a battling 86, well supported by late replacement and in form Sam Day who saw through the innings with a decent 72 not out. 256 for 9 the total. 257 the target.

Carlton Sports found themselves in a similar position at 82 for 4, before a fifth wicket partnership of 98 which was broken by Mylo Payne. Wickets fell regularly thereafter, including two run outs.

Down to the last two overs, with the visitors needing 10 from 12 balls – then needing 5 off the last over, and Rob O Hara delivered (0,1lb, 0,1,1) so 2 needed off the last ball… batsmen missed the delivery – scamper for the runs, but in vain as wicket keeper Sam Randall collects and throws down the stumps….. WOW.

Well bowled Robbo (2/49) but the leading bowler was Max Payne 2/42 off his 8 together with his runs (21) from the 1st innings too. Halstow won by 1 run in a highly entertaining well played match.
