π U11 Softball Sparks Match Report π
Another fantastic Friday evening for our U11 Sparks, who secured a brilliant 191-3 victory at Raynerβs Meadow!
Batting first, the Sparks showed great intent throughout the innings, accumulating an impressive 191 runs while only losing 3 wickets. The team worked hard between the wickets, found the boundary regularly and kept the scoreboard ticking over from start to finish.
The visitors battled hard in reply but were restricted to 119, thanks to some enthusiastic fielding, accurate bowling and excellent teamwork from the Sparks. Every player played their part in a complete team performance that highlighted the progress this group continues to make each week.
A huge well done to all the players for their effort, energy and sportsmanship. The smiles in the team photo say it all! πβ€οΈπ

π National Village Cup β Regional Final
High Halstow CC 148 all out
Chestfield CC 149-4
Chestfield won by 6 wickets
A hugely disappointing end to our National Village Cup journey as we fell one game short of progressing further in the competition.
After being asked to bat first, Rhys Fowler fought hard for his 58, with Archie Lally contributing 25, but regular wickets prevented us from building the innings we needed and we were eventually bowled out for 148.
What followed was a tremendous effort with the ball. Clark Dockwray (2-18) and Rob Fowler (1-16) helped reduce Chestfield to 109-4 and for a while it looked like we might pull off something special. Unfortunately, Chestfield held their nerve and an unbeaten 64 from Sam Camp saw them over the line.
Shoutout to Louis Waite, the 12th man, who had to come on for an injured Ciaran Fredericks. A massive shift to help the lads out!
Itβs a tough one to take. To come this far and fall at the Regional Final stage hurts, especially after giving ourselves a chance in the second innings. But every player should be proud of the way theyβve represented High Halstow throughout this yearβs Village Cup run.
Special mention must go to skipper Clark Dockwray, who not only led from the front with the ball but was instrumental in organising our entry and campaign in this yearβs competition. The countless hours of work behind the scenes often go unnoticed, and while this result will sting, the club owes a great deal to his efforts in helping make this memorable cup run possible.
Thank you to EVERYONE who supported us along the way, both home and away. Weβll regroup, learn from it, and go again. πͺππ

Our 1st XI go 5 in 5!!
π Rainham CC 131-7 (20)
π High Halstow CC 132-3 (17.5)
β
High Halstow won by 7 wickets
With rain threatening throughout the day, the match was reduced to 20 overs per side, but Halstow made light work of the chase to secure an excellent win on the road.
After choosing to field first, Halstowβs bowlers kept Rainham in check, with Hayden Blair (2-23) and Jamie Maguire (2-37) leading the attack as the hosts were restricted to 131-7.
In reply, Tyler Dockwray (22) and Archie Lally (27) got Halstow off to a flying start (50 partnership) before Hayden Blair capped a superb all-round performance with an unbeaten 60 from just 40 balls, including 4 sixes. Andrew Maurice (6*) stayed with him as Halstow reached the target with more than two overs to spare.
A strong team performance and another valuable 18 points on the board. πͺπ

Scorchers secure their first win! With some solid batting we set Frindsbury a tough target. Our bowling was on fire with Maddox taking a wicket on the opening ball, Cooper with 2, Amelie with 2 and Marnie taking 1, we took a well deserved win π€©
