🏆 INTERMEDIATE CUP ACTION 🏆

The Reserves are in Intermediate Cup action this weekend as they take on Kimpton Rovers. ⚽️

The boys will be looking to kick-start a cup run, and what better way to begin than by getting some redemption after Rovers defeated the A Team in their league campaign.

📍 White Horse Lane, London Colney
⏰ 10:00 AM Kick-Off

Let’s get behind the Reserves and start the cup run in style!

🔴 A TEAM — LEAGUE ACTION 🔴

The A Team look to get their league campaign off the mark this weekend as they take on a familiar Hatfield Seniors side.

After improving performances over the past few weeks, could this finally be the week we get those all-important three points?

And there’s even more on the line…

If all three teams win, the Chairman is buying everyone in the pub a drink! 🍺

⏰ 10:00 AM Kick-Off

Let’s hope we can make it happen!

🏆 COUNTY CUP

The First Team travelled over to Hemel for their County Cup fixture against Upper Apsley.

Upper Apsley led 2-1 until the last kick of the game, when Phoenix found the equaliser to take the tie to penalties!

Unfortunately, we couldn’t build on the momentum and went on to lose the shootout 3-2.

A great game of football from both teams, and good luck to Upper Apsley in the rest of their cup run!

⚽️ TALE OF TWO HALVES

A difficult start saw us go 3-0 down very quickly after some sloppy play from our side.

We managed to get a goal back just before half-time after being awarded a penalty, with Tom Pike stepping up and converting from the spot.

We started the second half brightly and put Hopfields under some early pressure, but unfortunately conceded another goal to make it 4-1.

The lads showed great character to fight back, with Danny Sherman getting on the scoresheet before an own goal brought us within one. We pushed right until the final whistle but unfortunately just ran out of time.

A great game against Hopfields, but unfortunately we come away with a 4-3 defeat.

⚽️ MATCH DAY

An unlucky result today, but a brilliant performance from everyone involved.

There were plenty of standout performances, with a few notable mentions:

⚽️ Kieran for getting himself on the scoresheet!

Joe — brilliant throughout the game and put in a top performance.

Edward — his hold-up play and all-round performance were solid from start to finish.

🏆 Man of the Match: Dwain

A complete defensive performance. Calm, composed and solid throughout, giving the team real confidence moving forward. 👏

🥄 Wooden Spoon: CAPTAIN LATE ⏰ (LLOYD)

For sending messages to people who owe fines for being late… and then turning up late himself!

You couldn’t write it.
