PAL Community CIC exists for SEND parents; it's intended to be a safe space where SEND parents can come together and find understanding and support amongst other parents who have shared the same journey and understand the difficulties and struggles in parenting a child with special educational needs. It's not an easy journey, and we are here to help, advise, listen, understand and support wherever and however we can.

If today has been difficult and you have felt alone, please know that PAL is a community of parents who have been where you are, and we are here for you. Don't travel this journey alone. DM, call or text Jane on 07456165589 or Nic on 07305591299 or alternatively email us at [email protected].

Our next parent support group meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 8th July at 6.30p.m onwards at The Gerard Arms (function room), St.Helens.

This week at our parent support group, we asked participants to wear or something green to show their support for . They didn't let us down, and we were able to stand together in support of raising awareness of a condition that impacts so many. Tourette's Awareness Month runs this year from May 15 to June 15, and it's a cause that is close to our hearts, as we support people in our group with lived experience of the condition. Neurodiversity is real, and we are here to help and support families to navigate the journey. We join in their campaign in educating people that those experiencing tics and Tourette's have no choice or control over what their tics look or sound like. We also join in their campaign . Such an important time to raise awareness and provide education and empowerment.

May 15 - June 15 is Tourette's Syndrome Awareness Month, and one of the common misconceptions surrounding Tourette's and tic disorders is that people experiencing tics may be faking them or doing them all to seek attention. However, for many people, it's often the case that they suppress the tics as much as possible when in company, and they are much worse when they are alone. The tics seen by the public are generally just the tip of the iceberg, and the tics that simply cannot be suppressed.

So please, if you haven't anything kind to say, then don't say anything at all. Get educated and raise awareness!!!
