Dinton Short Mat Bowls Club

Trophy cabinet at Dinton Village Hall with three (yes, three) new arrivals! A Wiltshire SMBA trio: Central Division Winners, Dinton Beeches; Mixed Fours (included Dinton Short matters Dave and Brian) and Dave again with the singles trophy (the Slaternator for a reason 😁😁). Gonna need a bigger cabinet... 😎❤️

So, despite the best efforts of a Dinton quartet (led by the Slaternator) Holt blew us away on rink 1 last night at Wilton Bowls Club. Overall, 2 rinks apiece, which was better than our performance at their place. Take the positives, right?

Back to rink 1, final end, this beauty surprised everyone (including the bowler!) to chalk up a shot for Wilton.

Bowls - like raising children - maddening a lot of the time, annoying ditto but A MAZ ING too, which trumps the lot imho. Thanks John G for recording this moment (and Dane and Gary - Holt master bowlers both, for bearing with John as he tried to work his phone). ❤️

So, here in South Wilts anyway, the weather’s bearable again. In other news, details concerning our Spring Open Competition have been fleshed out. 12 teams (of 4) with the winning team decided on a points basis. Are you in? Please let us know. ❤️
