Happy dance for a new brand in the WAGIS x LBS shop! Eleven as One is footy kit designed for older girls and young women. Founder Julia saw a gap in the market after a disappointing shopping trip for girls’ football kit (we’ve all been there, right?).

We’re stocking this blue training kit - the shorts are super popular with their double waistband and we love the tops with this gorgeous detail on the back.

Ireland rugby union’s Grace Moore Grace Moore is one of our speakers and recently spoke at a Girls in Sport event at Tonbridge Juddians RFC Academy .

TJ’s is one of the leading academies in the country so we were privileged to be asked to source a speaker.

Head of Academy, Gareth Withers said, ‘Grace gave a great insight into her journey to the top of the game and I felt it covered a lot of aspects that would be relatable to our young audience. She spoke well about adversity and resilience and answered questions from the floor well. She presented herself fantastically and stayed around to talk to people well after the event finished.’

Female Academy Captain, Delyth Huddart said, ‘I think having Grace Moore come as a speaker was exciting and inspiring, because it was good to hear from a current player who’s playing at such a high level. I enjoyed hearing her talk about her journey and how it wasn’t linear, and how her rugby career started later on in life. I think that my biggest takeaway from hearing her speak was that people will find you when the time is right, and that the most important thing to do as a player is to always enjoy what you are doing and making sure it’s the right thing for you.’

The T20 World Cup final at the home of cricket, Lord’s: hosts England vs their age-old rivals Australia. England were aiming to emulate their rugby and football counterparts but this time it wasn’t to be.

Australia won but there is so much positivity to take from this tournament.

🏏Ireland won their first T20 World Cup game ever against semi-finalists West Indies.

🏏 Deepti Sharma became the first Indian man or woman to take 100 T20 international wickets.

🏏 England’s Danni Wyatt-Hodge was the top run scorer of the tournament with 302 runs.

🏏 Tamzin Brits of South Africa had the highest individual score of 114.

🏏 The attendance at Lord’s for the final was 28,887, the highest attended women’s game at the home of cricket.

And the ICC has produced its official stats which are incredible.

246,000 people attended which is three times more than the 2017 cricket World Cup held in England and Wales.

38% were first time cricket buyers! That’s new people attracted to the sport and coming along to watch.

34% identified as female - more girls and women supporting cricket and hopefully going on to play.

And if you have just discovered cricket, there’s more to watch this summer. TODAY, England started their test match against India and history was made once more. This is the first women’s test match to be played at Lord’s, the home of cricket.

Cricket is growing and will be included at the LA28 games for the first time. Now’s the time to get involved.
