Arlo’s Running 100k in August, for Grandad John.

Arlo is 8 and has been part of Meresiders FC since he was 5, starting out in the Meresiders crèche and now playing for the Meresiders Missiles U9s.

He loves running, and this summer he’s decided to put that to good use. Arlo’s Grandad John passed away at the end of 2023, after a long battle with prostate cancer alongside other health problems. We miss him every day. Barely a week goes by without one of the boys doing something brilliant and one of us saying, “Grandad would have loved to see that.”

So Arlo’s chosen his own challenge. He’s running 100k across August, all in Grandad’s memory, raising money for Prostate Cancer UK. Ice creams are lined up for recovery.

1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer, and we want to help get that number down.

Meresiders would like to wish the very best of luck to Mollie Wigley as she begins an exciting new chapter with TNS, where she will continue to develop her footballing talent.

Steve, coach of the U14 Mavericks, said:

“Mollie has been an integral part of the team over the last four years, and being part of her footballing journey has been an absolute pleasure. Not only is she a truly gifted player, but she is also a fantastic, funny and hardworking young lady. She has been a joy to coach, and I look forward to watching her continued development with TNS.
