"AGE IS JUST A NUMBER"

Eric is 74 and comes to our centre for Personal Training with Danielle Lee (fitness manager) twice a week for an hour. He started in March 2018. Ericโ€™s goals were to work on a core stability due to back pain ( he couldnโ€™t stand up straight) and also to loose body fat. Within this time Eric has lost a considerable amount of weight and after having back surgery in September 2018 his Core Stability has improved and now can stand upright unaided. Being a mother to 3 great children 13, 4 and 8 months old and seeing them look up to me being a strong force for them, seeing them grow up to being amazing.

โ—๏ธMenopause usually starts between the ages of 45-55 but in some cases can start as early as 35-

Why is fitness important during menopauseโ“

โœ…Exercise during and after menopause offers many benefits, including:

* Preventing weight gain. Women tend to lose muscle mass and gain abdominal fat around menopause. Regular physical activity can help prevent weight gain.

* Reducing the risk of cancer. Exercise during and after menopause can help you lose excess weight or maintain a healthy weight, which might offer protection from various types of cancer, including breast, colon and endometrial cancer.

* Strengthening your bones. Exercise can slow bone loss after menopause, which lowers the risk of fractures and osteoporosis.

* Reducing the risk of other diseases. Menopause weight gain can have serious implications for your health. Excess weight increases the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Regular exercise can counter these risks.
* Boosting your mood. Physically active adults have a lower risk of depression and cognitive decline.

๐Ÿ”นAt home, opt for dumbbells and resistance tubing. In the gym, choose from weight machines or free weights. Select a level that is heavy enough to tax your muscles in 12 repetitions and progress from there.

๐ŸคฉYoga and meditation ๐Ÿง˜๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

๐Ÿ”นAs no two women experience menopause in the same way, your unique symptoms will tailor your approach to relief. Practice a relaxation technique that works for you โ€” whether itโ€™s deep breathing, yoga, or meditation.
Supported and restorative yoga poses may offer some relief. These poses may help calm your nerves by centering your mind. They can also help alleviate symptoms such as:
* hot flashes
* irritability
* fatigue

I am so happy how my abs are looking since having my 3rd child..

My daughter is now 4 months old.
โ€œTheyโ€ say after a C-section it is hard to get back your abdominals due to the abdominal wall being cutโ€ฆ

Well I have had 3 c-sections and my stomach s looking toned and my definition is getting there!
