Thursday evening saw another Southend Track & Field Meet take place at Garons, and while it may have been a quieter fixture on the calendar, there was no shortage of SS Athletic vests on show. 💙❤️

Across the track and field, our athletes were out in force, with some events and races made up entirely of SS Athletics competitors, a great reflection of the commitment and enthusiasm within the club.

From sprints to distance races, jumps to throws, it was fantastic to see so many of our athletes making the most of the opportunity to compete on home soil.

Well done to everyone who took part and represented the club so well.

What a day for SS Athletics at Thurrock!

These matches are what athletics is all about — athletes competing for the team, supporting each other throughout the day and parents cheering from the sidelines.

We’re delighted to share that SSA secured another match victory, finishing well clear at the top of the standings with a huge points advantage. 💙❤️

From the first event to the last, our athletes showed incredible effort, determination and team spirit across the track and field.

A huge thank you to all the parents, officials, coaches and volunteers who helped make the day possible. These competitions simply couldn’t happen without you.

Most importantly, thank you to every athlete who represented the club so brilliantly. You should all be incredibly proud.

Match 3 awaits at Hornchurch on 5th July… and we’re ready to go again.

Basildon U10/U12 Quadrathlon

It was fantastic to see so many of our younger athletes competing at the Basildon U10/U12 Quadrathlon, gaining valuable competition experience and continuing their athletics journey.

With athletes taking on a mix of sprinting, endurance, jumping, and throwing events, it was a brilliant opportunity to showcase their all-round abilities while having plenty of fun along the way.

Alongside our winners, there were plenty of PBs, great performances, and lots of smiling faces throughout the day. Competitions like these are a fantastic introduction to athletics, helping young athletes build confidence, develop new skills, and discover just how much they can achieve.

Eastern AA Outdoor Championships – Podium Round-Up

An incredible day of athletics and a brilliant championship for our athletes, bringing home medals across the track and field alongside numerous PBs, season’s bests, and standout performances.

Alongside the medals were countless PBs, season’s bests, and outstanding performances, with several athletes competing up an age group and proving they belong at this level. 💙❤️

Success like this doesn’t happen overnight. It comes from consistent training, great coaching, supportive teammates, and athletes who are willing to work hard and enjoy the journey.

A hot and challenging day at the Eastern AA Outdoor Championships

Competing against some of the best athletes from across the region, our athletes showed great determination and put in some fantastic performances throughout the day. These official photos capture just a small glimpse of the action from a brilliant championship event.

What a competition weekend for our athletes!

While some of our squad were competing at the East of England Championships (more on that tomorrow 👀), three of our athletes took on the challenge of the East Essex Triathlon today.

In tough conditions and soaring temperatures, they gave it absolutely everything:

🏅 Honor – 4th place
🏅 Fleur – 6th place
🏅 Charlie – 9th place

With some very experienced triathletes on the start line, including athletes competing in their GB suits, this was no easy race. Charlie also had the added challenge of his chain coming off twice during the bike leg!

Taking on something different, showing resilience, and giving 100% from start to finish – we couldn’t be prouder of all three athletes. The girls were awesome, and Charlie battled through every setback thrown his way.

Well done, Honor, Fleur and Charlie!

A huge well done to our endurance athletes who headed to the Stratford Speed GP to take on the 800m, with all three runners coming away with new personal bests!
