Stirling University RFC We are the University of Stirling Mens Rugby Club. We field a 1XV, 2XV and 3XV that compete in various BUCS leagues on Wednesdays across the academic year.

Players of all standards are welcome to join us, message for more details. Stirling University's Rugby Football Club has roughly been around since the University was founded in 1967. The club consists of a 1st XV and 2nd XV. The 1st XV currently compete in Scotland's top BUCS Rugby Union league - Scottish 1A on a Wednesday. The 2nd XV compete in BUCS Rugby Union Scottish 3A league on a Wednesday. If you're interested, come down and get involved in training every Monday (6:30-8:00) and Friday (3:00-4:30). All taking place at the rubber crumb next to the sports centre. For more information, send us a message and we'll be more than happy to help you be a part of the club.

Congratulations to Captain Ben McDonald for earning his 30th cap at varsity on Friday night.

Ben played a vital role in SURFC’s Double double season and has earned himself 2 POTY awards at clubs.

A huge threat on the pitch, his notable size leads to heavy carries and colossal hits in defence. Off the pitch, he’s just as important, as he now heads into his second year as Vice President.

As a key figure in SURFC’s success, we’re delighted to have another full year with him and look forward to seeing plenty more caps added to his tally! 💚

We are very pleased to announce Lachlann Forsyth as Head Coach of the 2nd XV next season! 💚🇳🇿

After a successful season coaching the seconds last season as part of his dissertation in his final year, Lachie has now joined us as a paid coach at SURFC!

Lachie brings a wealth of knowledge, especially within the forwards, and will be looking to push the boys all the way this year.

This is a tremendous step forward for the club, as it is the first time we have been able to fill this role full-time!

💚Third XV💚

SURFC are proud to announce the formation of a third 15 for the up coming 2026/27 season. This is yet another big step forward that the club has produced to tackle its growth in recent years.

This new team will be playing in the 4th tier of Scottish university rugby and will give the opportunity to new and returning players who are looking for more game time to improve their skills and enjoy their rugby.

This team is a testament of the success and expanding player base of SURFC’s 1st and 2nd XV’s last year and will help the club move forward into our new of era rugby. 🤩

If you are interested in joining us next season the role pays between £14-£18 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

Coaching hours are 5:30–7:30pm on Mondays, 4 hours on Wednesdays, and 3:00–5:30pm on Fridays.
