Well done to Kilsyth CC on their successful trip to yesterday to take part in the Heritage Bonspiel.
Period clothing, old stones and corn brooms were all the fashion yesterday amongst curlers from across Scotland.
Kilsyth pulling out a win in the first session with Wullie Ralston rolling back to his younger years of smoking the pipe on the ice.
Wullie, 95 years old, still keen as ever, playing alongside youngster Ben lamb, 14.
Well done team!

Stirling Young Curlers- End of Season Bonspiel
Stirling Young Curlers celebrated the end of the season with a Bonspiel and prize giving in the NCA in the Peak on Saturday 28th March.
They played a round robin competition one for the junior and one for the seniors.
Many of our members were away this weekend, we had a team over in Italy playing at the junior international bonspiel, and many of the younger curlers were playing at the U14s mixed doubles in Dumfries. Those present had a fun day playing some great curling while the parents watched on.
Dollar ladies also came along on the day and made a generous donation to the Young Curlers.
Below is a picture of the young curlers wearing their winners medals, with members of Dollar present, handing over the cheque. We are very grateful to them for this support.
Trophies and medals were handed out to all prize winners from throughout the season, with the pinnacle trophy for Player of the Year going to Hannah Young.
Hannah has had the season of her life being part of the National Curling Academy, winning the Scottish Junior Championship as part of team Archibald, then representing Scotland and finishing 4th at the Junior Womenโs B Worlds, and then winning silver at the Scottish Womenโs Championships with team Soutar, narrowly losing the final to team Henderson.
Hannah is pictured below, with her medals and with Maggie Mauchline and Derek Young, who are proud to have coached Hannah since she joined the club at age 8.
The Club generally have had a good season with many of our members competing, and winning prizes, in the various Scottish Curling Slams, and a team going over to Canada for the Junior Grand Slam of Curling โ they may not have won the event, though acquitted themselves well, but they did win the Karaoke. We also have had a number of members represented in the various Scottish Curling Regional Academies.
Well done to all members have a great summer and see you back on the ice soon!
