GT Bentley Reserves 1–1 Cavendish

The points were shared in a game where we started really brightly and, for the first half an hour, looked certain to open the scoring, but we lacked that clinical edge in front of goal.

Our opponents then took the lead, typically with their only shot on target all game — although it was a great goal, finding the top corner from outside the box.

After half time, we again started brightly and this time got our reward, equalising through an emphatic finish from Harrison. We had a few half chances to go on and win the game, but couldn’t quite get over the line.

A point is a positive result and a good bounce back after our last match.🔴⚫️

We’re back in action today as we prepare to face a strong Great Bentley Reserves side.

After a week off, we’ll be looking to bounce back from our last result with a more competitive display and put in a performance we can be proud of!

We look to build on last week’s positive performance and three points as we travel to Tavern FC in Clacton.

They’re an established side in this league, and as the new boys, we know it’ll be a tough battle. But we have every confidence we can come out on top and further strengthen our start to the season ⚽️

A perfect start to the league campaign — 3 points and a clean sheet.

Despite difficult conditions, the boys played some great football and adapted well to the big pitch, mixing good passing with some effective direct play.

Today we return to competitive action as we begin our season in Division One of the Essex & Suffolk Border League!

With some new faces joining the squad alongside a large number of last year’s group, we make one of our shortest trips to nearby Hedinghams United.

It’s a game we’re all really looking forward to, and one that’s sure to be a competitive contest.

Match Day 🔴⚫️

Pre-season gets underway this evening with a trip to ESBL Division 3 side Rayne FC.

We met tonight’s opponents in the Tommy Thompson Cup last season, where it proved to be a closely contested encounter — and we’re expecting another competitive test tonight.

Tonight’s all about getting the new lads settled in with the rest of the group and getting some good minutes in as the season gets closer.

A reminder that we begin our pre-season tomorrow evening, 6.30pm start!
