Looking for advice on a winter bike or winter cycling? I'm an all season rider including my daily commute through the winter months. Here are a few hints and tips on how to keep riding through the winter...

1. The right bike. Bigger tyres, mudguards and disc brakes.

2. Lights. Good quality rechargeable lights that keep you safe and light up the road ahead.

3. Clothing. It's the small things that make keep you comfortable. Some decent gloves, over shoes, a snood. Merino wool is nature's gift, I use a merino wool base layer and a cosy merino cap worn under my helmet.

4. Be seen. It's not just lights but bright colours and reflective kit that make a huge difference.

5. Storage. If you are out on a long ride in winter the weather is very changeable. Somewhere to stow away extra clothing is really useful.

6. Routine. This is a big one. Keep good routines, arrange rides with your mates, try and get out twice a week, that's a golden rule.

Have you got any other hints and tips? (Other than stay indoors!)

Keep riding outdoors through the winter, it's great for your body and mind. You'll be in better shape come the spring rather than that nasty hard 6 week slog getting fit again every spring.

If you want any help just call in the shop for free friendly expert advice. 🙂

Congratulations to everyone who ran Taunton 10k today! Lots of familiar faces. Leanna enjoyed the race, it was Ben's turn as support crew. Great to see lots of supporters on the roadside. 🙂

This beauty rolled out the shop last week to a very excited customer. The stunning and exceptionally well equipped Wilier Rapida.

The geometry is a clever combination of aero and endurance so you can ride fast and be comfortable, it is equipped with Shimano 12 speed Di2, 45mm deep Miche carbon wheels and a one piece carbon fully integrated front end.
