Complete this sentence:

“You know you’re a horse rider when…” 😂

Is it when…

🐴 You have more photos of your horse than yourself?

👢 You automatically check the weather before making ANY plans?

🧤 You own approximately 47 pairs of gloves?

🧼 Your car is permanently covered in mud and hay?

💷 You walk into a tack shop “just to look” and somehow leave £100 poorer?

😂 You can recognise your horse’s neigh from across the yard?

❤️ Your idea of a perfect day involves horses, mud and probably very cold fingers?

👇 YOUR TURN!

Finish the sentence in the comments:

🐴 WHY ARE GROUP RIDING LESSONS SO EFFECTIVE! 🐴

Think riding lessons are all about you, your horse and your instructor? Think again! 👀

There’s something really special about learning to ride as part of a group — and it can be one of the most effective ways to develop confident, capable riders. 💪🐎

✨ YOU LEARN FROM EACH OTHER
Watching another rider have a go can help you understand an exercise before it’s your turn. You get to see what works, what doesn’t, and learn from everyone around you!

👀 MORE THAN JUST YOUR OWN HORSE
Group lessons teach riders to become aware of what’s happening around them — other horses, riders, space and movement. This helps develop important riding skills and awareness.

🧠 PROBLEM SOLVING
Not every horse responds in exactly the same way! Riding alongside different horses and riders helps both children and adults learn to think, adapt and find solutions.

💪 BUILDING INDEPENDENCE
Group lessons encourage riders to listen, remember instructions and put them into practice independently, while still having their instructor there to guide them.

❤️ CONFIDENCE GROWS TOGETHER
There’s nothing quite like seeing a friend master something they’ve been working on — and then having a go yourself! Celebrating each other’s progress creates a brilliant confidence boost.

😂 AND… THEY’RE FUN!
Learning alongside friends makes lessons social, enjoyable and something riders look forward to each week.

🏆 IT’S NOT ABOUT BEING THE BEST RIDER IN THE GROUP…
It’s about becoming the best rider YOU can be.

Every rider will progress at their own pace, and a good group lesson allows everyone to learn, improve and have fun together. 🐴❤️

So whether you’re learning your first rising trot, working on your position, tackling poles or building confidence — there’s so much to gain from riding together!

👇 Who loves a group lesson? Tag your riding buddy! 🐎💕

🐴 HORSE RIDING 101: How well do you know your horsey words? 🐴

If you’re new to riding, the horsey world can sometimes feel like it has a language of its own! 🤔😂

So, let’s test your knowledge and learn some of the basics 👇

🐎 HORSE — Generally, a horse is above 14.2 hands high.

🦄 PONY — A pony is less than 14.2 hands high.

📏 HANDS — This is how we measure a horse’s height! One hand is approximately 4 inches. So yes… horses are measured in hands, not feet! 🙌

👄 BIT — Sits in the horse’s mouth and is controlled by the reins.

🪢 REINS — The straps attached to the bit that the rider holds to help communicate with the horse.

🐴 GIRTH — The strap underneath the horse’s belly that helps keep the saddle safely in place.

👢 STIRRUPS — Where your feet go when you’re riding!

💪 NECK STRAP — A strap around the horse’s neck. Perfect for helping riders learn balance without relying on the reins.

🪢 LEAD REIN — A rope or rein used to lead a horse, often useful for beginner riders.

🏇 FLATWORK — A lesson without poles or jumping, focusing on the rider’s position, control and the horse’s movement.

🪵 POLE WORK / GRID WORK — Lessons involving poles or jumps to help improve the rider’s position, balance and control.

🌳 HACK — Going out for a ride on the roads or bridle paths rather than having a lesson in the arena.

✨ BONUS QUESTION! ✨

How many of these words did you already know? 🤔

Drop your score in the comments! 👇
0–3: 🐣 Horsey newbie
4–7: 🐴 Getting the hang of it
8–10: 🏇 Horsey pro in training
11+: 👑 You speak fluent horse!

And remember… there are no silly questions when you’re learning! ❤️🐴
