In the coming weeks, we will be shining the spotlight on our fantastic Colts players who are making the transition to Senior Rugby this season.

These Colts players had a fantastic 2025/26 season and delivered one of the best performances we have watched in a long time against Stafford in the Fred Rowley Final.

Whilst many of our Colts had the opportunity to represent Walsall at a senior level last season, they are excited to enjoy, develop and thrive in our senior rugby setup.

The first player we are welcoming and introducing is Max Ryder-Caddy.

We hope you have a fantastic season Max, and you enjoy every minute.

▪︎HONORARY LIFE MEMBER▪︎

Huge congratulations to Bryn Hardwick on being awarded Honorary Life Membership of Walsall Rugby Club.

Bryn is a longstanding member and has become a Walsall RFC institution. Bryn became a member of the rugby club in 1967 and has contributed so much to the club over the past 59 years. The list of his jobs is impressive and not limited to; club vice-president, manning the ticket hut on match days, furniture repair and maintenance, maintenance of equipment. Bryn is always there to offer his support, and we can't thank him enough for everything he continues to do at the grand old age of 90.

On behalf of everyone at Walsall Rugby Club, we would like to congratulate Bryn on this very special honour and achievement!

We are thrilled to welcome Jack Ludden to Walsall RFC for the 2026/27 season.

Jack joins us after moving to the area from Kent, where he previously played his rugby at Sevenoaks. A versatile forward with experience playing in the second row and back row, we’re looking forward to seeing the impact he can make in a Walsall shirt this season.

The cost to sponsor a player is £300 + VAT and as the sponsor, you will get:

The sponsored player will get:
• Player subs are covered

▪︎U16'S TRAINING RETURNS▪︎

This Sunday, Aston Old Bears U16's is returning to training at Walsall RFC at 10:30.

As this is the first session back after a well-deserved break, it will be a light, fun session and there will also be a parent & player meeting. New players, regardless of previous rugby experience are welcome to come along and give rugby a try.

Our U16 age group is for boys who are heading into year 11 in September.

We are thrilled to announce that Mark Harrison has returned to Walsall RFC for the 2026/27 season.

Mark started playing rugby at Walsall as a mini and junior player before moving to local clubs Dudley Kingswinford and Stourbridge. A player who offers us strong options along the back line, we look forward to seeing the impact he makes in the new season.

Our themed food evenings are back, courtesy of and this time it is Greek Night at Walsall Rugby Club on Friday 21st August.

These are always fantastic nights and not to be missed.

▪︎WORKING WEEKEND 2026▪︎

On the 24th - 26th July, we held our annual working weekend.

A huge thank you to everyone who gave up their time across the weekend. From painting and cleaning to repairs and general maintenance, every job completed has helped make Walsall RFC look fresh and ready to welcome players, members and visitors for the new season.

It was fantastic to see so many people getting involved, proving once again that our club is built on the time and effort of volunteers

Last month, our Book Club met for the second time and this meeting was all about The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E.Schwab.

It was another brilliant meeting with a lot of laughs and lively discussion which didn't stop with the book!

Today kicks off our working weekend and we need your help!

Some of our dedicated volunteers are already hard at work scraping and stabilizing the club brickwork ready for masonry painting tomorrow.

Our club is predominantly run by volunteers and this weekend offers all our fantastic members to pitch in and help get our clubhouse and grounds looking ready for the new season.

Please give any time you can this weekend- your help is greatly appreciated.
