Huge well done to Y8 Ospreys who were the undefeated champions at the Wilmslow Lightning Tournament yesterday 🏆 an outstanding performance from start to finish (on top of an 8:15am league game win against a very tall Y10 team!)

Starlings are heading to the finals 💜

The girls had a wobbly start being in their first semi final was a lot.
They settled in the second quarter gaining a 4 shot lead.
In a nail biting quarter 4 Blazers pulled back to 1 behind but the starlings held on for an amazing win.

Sparrowhawks are heading to the finals 💜

Sparrowhawks 39 - 23 Galaxy Titans

An Appleton team make a final next week. Sparrowhawks go marching on!

After winning the league format the girls were wary of this semi final after losing the Winter one after finishing 1st.

Galaxy are a good side and the game was certainly tense early on, we went 4 in front but allowed Galaxy back in. We were 8-6 up.

Semi finals are hard to win and tense affairs but as is usual at the moment the girls press that accelerator in Q2 winning to 10-6 to take a lead into half time.

There were some minor moments of loose possession in the third but we worked hard to turn it back over and to goal. Defensive D were ace at starving their shooter ball and our zoning made it really difficult. The Fab Four up top took it to goal on nearly every possession and our transition became more patient. We had another 10-6 quarter to extend the lead to 10pts.

Some early turnovers meant we raced into an unassailable lead. We’d ground down our opposition to an 11-5 quarter win to book our place in the final vs Warrington

Hawks are heading to the finals 💜

Hawks 33 - 20 Ellesmere Port Ice

The girls only went and blew the doors off the place with this performance!!!

What a game of netball Hawks put in here. In the face of extreme physicality, pace and tempo the girls played ‘Sparrowhawk’ netball!!

It was 2nd vs 3rd and we beat the odds. We kept calm - worked hard - forced scoreboard pressure and took advantage of errors to beat a really strong, older team and book their place in the final.

The skill level from our girls was high in transition and we had to push hard to find space, whilst working even harder to deny them space. Feeds to our attackers were on point and they completed at above 95% conversion rate. Whilst our defenders competed for every ball turning over and forcing errors.

Q1 was equal as EPI scored on the buzzer. Hawks found the lead at the half 14-11 but it was tight. Our mantra since we came together has been Q3 - take it to your opponent - and did we!!!!! Winning the third quarter 14-3 to take control of the game.

Special mention to the umpires - on point, fair and strong in the heat of the battle.

We entered the final quarter and a few nerves until we scored and kept the opponent at arms length to win and book their place in the final beating a phenomenal team.

Two finals to go with the recent two tournament wins. Girls you deserve this - togetherness and determination - your mentality in the pressure situation was fabulous.
