2 guys with hearts of gold are heading onto the rugby field at Ince Rose Bridge Sports and Community Club, Gaz for the very 1st time and Mitesh only the 2nd. These guys back community rugby massively so its time we got behind them.

We want to get as many people showing their support as possible with just a £5 sponsorship.

For that £5 you will:

Thank you to all the voters, we are delighted to unveil our new awards for Monkey Fest 2026

The mens award will be named after Joe Charnock an incredible guy who I had the pleasure of being in the company of over many years. This will be sponsored by Nisa Local

The ladies award is in memory of Cliff Tamou, a leading light in the refereeing world and key figure in womens rugby. This will be sponsored by Masterplan Stone and Brickwork

Finally a new award for 2026, The Layla Balenski team of the year award. This will be awarded to a junior team who truly reflect the values we and Layla advocate so empathy, dedication, determination and enjoyment. This award is brand new, and available to sponsor so get in touch if you want to get on board on a 1, 2 or 3 year sponsorship of this award.

1stly the even split between men and women who follow our page, and women actually edging it is belting. This means our game and what we at Fat Monkey do is attracting women too. In what was predominantly a mens sport traditionally, Its so 1990s to think its all about mens open age, or the only thing that appeals is the mens game, im really glad ppl see what we are aiming to do.

The second picture shows the Heartland areas are well covered however, the biggest percentage is outside of these three which again is only for the good of the game. We need the game played away from the M62 corridor, focusing primarily on an already saturated geographical location is a ridiculous concept. Lets get up into Blackpool, lets rebuild the Cumbrian game, lets see what talent there is in North Wales, into a City the size of Manchester or Liverpool. Our game grows with great people and energetic enthusiasm.
