❤️ Literally this means EVERYTHING ❤️

Honestly, Fat Monkey will attend the ceremony but the nomination from our peers / community means more than any award ever can.

Having people take the time to nominate us and who believe in everything we are striving to achieve is all the recognition we need.

Juniors, Ladies, Masters, PDRL, LDRL, Wheelchair Referees, families, couples; we literally have ticked every box when it comes to being on the paddock.

Weve hosted huge events where the 7s are as important as the open age, where the referees are as important as the Ladies. Where the community come together as a huge army!!!

Thankfully the days of 17 blokes playing 17 blokes being the only game worthy of playing or as a "headline", are left in the 1990s, Rugby League is SO inclusive and we are proud to be driving it as hard as we can.

Additionally in the process of creating this platform we have, we are so close to £75,000 being donated to charity and community rugby league in just 2 years alone, these numbers are mind blowing!!!

So although we are delighted to have been nominated and we will be delighted to represent everyone of our supporters, the real achievement is the recognition from you our amazing people.

Just when you thought things couldn't get any harder!!!!

4 brilliant applications in the past 3 days (2 additional coaches, 1 project and 1 volunteer) make this a mammoth task for the 8 judges.

I think once the judges scores come back in about 5 weeks I might up the number of nominees invited to our presentation night, if I can find room. Some of those being nominated deserve a night out on us, and it would be our pleasure to celebrate their season.

❤️IMPORTANT & APOLOGIES❤️

Given the amount of nominations we have received already and the time it will take our judges to review the applications with justice, we are bringing forward the closing date for our 2026 Community award nominations. We will still give you plenty of time!!

🔥The new closing date is 10pm Sunday 20th September.🔥

We will then get the judges to finalise their decisions by 31st October and announce the "Final 3s" in each category who will be invited to the award ceremony on 4th December. Keep Nominating before it closes. Open to all clubs, teams, charity teams, the entire rugby league community

On the back of the nominations flowing in, Benstead Holiday Cottage have offered to sponsor the brand new award of community referees of the year.

We are excited to see how this one plays out with some very strong candidates already nominated.

This is gonna take some effort from the panel and still 2 weeks til nominations close.

Some categories with 10 nominations already. Some absolutely great reasons and id give everyone an award if I could. Remember its not a vote, its a nomination as to why you think theyre the right person. The 8 independent judges will decide the winners

Remember if you make the top 3 youll be invited to the presentation evening on Friday 4th December 2026.

Is there someone at your club who deserves recognition or their efforts go unseen by the majority. Nominate them now as to why they are above the rest

🎵Music Act Required🎵

So folks, weve been at loads of events where weve had belting music but ive never got details 🙈

For our community awards night on Friday 4th December im after an Indie type Party Act / Band who can help us celebrate in style so guests dont have to listen to me all night. Courteeners / Gerry / Jamie Webster / Sam Fender etc

Finishing the year so incredibly strong.

Masterplan Stone and Brickwork have supported us so much this year and have once again blown us away and offered to sponsor the Community Coach of the Year at this year's community awards festival.

I think its only right to introduce our very nervous judging panel.

We are upwards of 40 nominations now across the categories so its gonna be really tough for these guys, youve really smashed it. I have no vote, no opinion and no influence whatsoever (bit like being at home hahaha!!! Joking obvs)

The final 3 in each category will be invited to our end of season presentation where the winner will be announced.

Gaz from Nisa Local and Mitesh from Londis - Standish Lower Ground joined by Fat Monkey players Dez and Emma. Then Mark from Holly’s Hearts and Victoria who is our heritage nunber 100. The one and only Si Rickardo will run the iron rod over the refs in particular and head judge Mrs Fat Monkey.
