🚨 The 3 Biggest Mistakes Women Over 35 Make When Trying to Lose Weight
If you’re working hard but your body isn’t changing, it might NOT be a lack of effort.
It could be one of these common mistakes:
❌ Eating too little
Constantly cutting calories can slow progress, increase cravings, and make it harder to build the muscle your body needs.
❌ Avoiding heavy weights
Many women still worry that lifting weights will make them bulky. The truth? Building muscle is one of the most powerful ways to boost metabolism, improve body composition, and support hormone health.
❌ Ignoring stress and recovery
You can’t out-train chronic stress. Poor sleep, high stress levels, and lack of recovery can impact energy, cravings, and fat loss results.
The women who get the best results after 35 aren’t doing more.
They’re doing the right things consistently…
✅ Lifting weights
✅ Eating enough protein
✅ Managing stress
✅ Prioritising recovery

If you’re a woman over 35 and you’ve convinced yourself that carbs are the reason you can’t lose weight, read this 👇🏻
So many women hit their late 30s and 40s, notice weight gain around the stomach, lower energy, stronger cravings, and suddenly think the answer is to cut bread, rice, pasta and fruit.
The problem is that cutting carbs often leads to feeling exhausted, constantly hungry, struggling with workouts, and ending up in a cycle of being “good” all week before overeating at the weekend.
Carbs are not the reason you’re gaining weight.
More often than not, the issue is eating too little during the day, inconsistent nutrition, poor recovery, stress, lack of strength training, and not consuming enough protein.
Your body needs carbohydrates for energy, performance, recovery, hormone function and muscle maintenance. This becomes even more important as we move through our late 30s and 40s.
Instead of removing carbs, focus on building balanced meals that contain protein, fibre, healthy fats and quality carbohydrates. This will help stabilise energy, support fat loss, reduce cravings and improve training performance.
The goal isn’t to eat less food. The goal is to eat smarter.
Women over 35 don’t need another restrictive diet. They need a sustainable approach that works with their lifestyle and supports long-term fat loss.

Failing isn’t the worst thing.
Being too scared to even try is.
I speak to so many women who tell me they want to lose weight, feel stronger, have more energy, feel confident in their clothes again, or finally put themselves first.
But they’re waiting.
Waiting for the right time.
Waiting until work calms down.
Waiting until the kids are older.
Waiting until they feel more motivated.
The truth is, there will always be a reason not to start.
And yes, you might fail.
You might miss workouts.
You might have weeks where life gets in the way.
You might not get it right the first time.
But every step forward teaches you something.
Staying exactly where you are because you’re afraid to fail teaches you nothing.
Six months from now, you can either be grateful you started or wishing you had.
You don’t need to be fearless.
You just need to be willing to begin.
What’s one thing you’ve been putting off because you’re scared you might fail?
