💦Baby Swimming Classes 💦

Our Floaties classes (0-9 months) are perfect for babies who are ready to discover the sensations of the water. They're also great for new parents to meet other mums and dads too! We know that some of our swimmers have made their first friends at their Puddle Ducks class.

During these classes, you have lots of time to really focus on your baby one-on-one. It's a lovely way to bond and relax with your little one whilst they learn to be comfortable in and around the water.

That special time in the water also helps to build trust and promotes social development as your little one interacts with our other little swimmers in the class!

Here is Emma one our fabulous teachers having a practice at floating on her back 🥰

Floating on your back is a personal survival skill, it's a skill we teach even our very youngest swimmers. We practice this skill lots in our lessons right through from our Floaties class (Birth to 9 months) to our Swim Academy lessons (4-10yrs). We teach babies and children to turn in the water onto their backs and as they get older they are taught how to change positions to keep them afloat.

If your little one was to accidently fall into water, you want them to be able to turn onto their back and float giving them chance to catch their breath whilst staying afloat, it also gives them the chance to shout for help.

Today is and there are so many benefits of swimming including on your and your little one's mental health 🥰

💛 Skin to skin and eye to eye contact help you bond with your baby.
💛Meeting other parents and babies/children at the pool gives you and your little ones a social circle to talk too and develop relationships with.
💛Swimming and exercise releases endorphins which are natural mood lifters and reduces stress and anxiety.
💛Exercise like swimming can improve your sleep a benefit for both parent and child!

💦Swimming in Pyjamas 💦

During our Water Safety Awareness Week at some of our pools we give babies, children, and parents the opportunity to wear their pyjamas over their swim wear.

Wearing pyjamas during our lessons, they safely experience what the water feels like with clothes on and prepare them in case of an accident.

During our Water Safety Pyjama Week we practice:
⭐Experience the extra weight when swimming, kicking and moving in the water with clothes on
⭐Floating, turning and returning to the side
⭐Building confidence after an unexpected water entry
⭐Understand how to help themselves and other safely in the water

Practicing these activities in a safe and controlled environment with our specially trained teachers helps builds confidence to help in unexpected situations.

Our Water Safety Awareness Week forms part of creating confident, capable and water-safe swimmers ❤

If your pool is not allowed to wear pyjamas this is the perfect week to use a courteys class voucher and attend another pool - further details will be sent on email.

Let’s take a peek at our Swim Academy swimmers during our Water Safety Pyjama Week!👚💦 Puddle Ducks Mid Cheshire 💦

Puddle Ducks Pyjama Week teaches invaluable personal survival skills as well as being lots of fun! All our classes have a water safety element to them every week, however, our Pyjama Week gives all our swimmers an opportunity to see what it might feel like to be wearing clothes in the water.

This week is our annual Charity Pyjama Week where we raise money for Children’s Hospital Pyjamas who donate pyjamas to poorly children staying in hospital. You can also donate to Children’s Hospital Pyjamas by bringing a new pair of pyjamas to your class if your local pool is collecting.

Well done to all of our swimmers, teachers and parents for joining in and having lots of fun in the pool! 💦

Emma delivered some wonderful Pyjama Week lessons and all the children had a fabulous time in their Pyjama's and were excited to see Puddle.

It’s our Water Safety Pyjama Week with our charity partner Children’s Hospital Pyjamas 💦

Puddle Ducks Water Safety Pyjama Week teaches invaluable personal survival skills as well as being lots of fun!  
During these special lessons, children (and their grown-ups if in the pool) come to class in their pyjamas and experience what it feels like to swim in clothes. This helps them understand how different the water feels in real-life situations, while still enjoying the songs, games and activities they love. 

It’s a brilliant way to give children practical skills and confidence in the water, while also reassuring parents that their little ones know what to do if they ever find themselves in the water unexpectedly. 
 
Our swimmers (and teachers!) always look forward to Pyjama Week - it’s a memorable milestone and a valuable part of your child’s swimming journey.

Puddle Ducks Baby & Pre-school and Swim Academy teachers are trained to the highest standard by the best in the business. Not only will you have internationally recognised STA qualifications, but you will be specially trained in the 100% child-led Puddle Ducks and Swim Academy programmes.  

Our swimming teachers come from all walks of life but they all bond over their love of the way we teach children to swim here at Puddle Ducks. Previous swim teacher experience isn’t necessary, but we do look for a few basics when we are recruiting. We are looking for someone who: 

💧Can swim 25m and is confident diving to the bottom of a pool.
💧Is confident, friendly, flexible and reliable. 
💧Has a passion for working with children. 
💧Has a driving licence and access to a car.
💧Is willing to commit to training over several months.

What a fantastic achievement! Best friends from
Puddle Ducks to National Championships! 

Lottie and her best friend Amber, daughter of Puddle Ducks franchisee Jay Nash (Puddle Ducks Chester, Wirral & North Wales), first splashed into the pool together at Puddle Ducks Holywell Leisure Centre. Fast forward 10 years, after completing the Puddle Ducks programme through to our Elite Swim Academy, these two best friends, now 12 years old, are making waves at the National Swimming Championships competing together for Holywell Swimming Club.

Lottie is excelling in breaststroke while Amber is soaring through the water as an avid butterfly swimmer. From those early Puddle Ducks lessons to competing on the national stage, their journey is a wonderful reminder of how swimming can create friendships and inspire young swimmers to achieve incredible things. Good luck girls, everyone here at Puddle Ducks is cheering you on!
