Into 2025
Now in our 26th year of business, we are resetting our structure to ensure our customers receive enhanced value from their dealings with us. Our new business model is designed to rebalance our shops with our on-line presence plus delivering a visiting service to approved centres.
Additionally, we are extending our opening hours to meet the needs of our customer base.
We are moving to deliver ‘Clinics’ where our customers
can have their equipment and game characteristics evaluated and improved – more on this shortly.
Taking a leaf out of the Golf Pro Shop playbook we are intending to expand our services to meet the bespoke needs of customers ambitions. This will result in personalised ‘performance enhancement plans’ being created plus gaining access to a layered ‘Club Benefits’ scheme. This will be described in greater detail over the coming months.

LPSA Pro Shop – Maintaining your kit – Pro Shop Advice
Getting Ready for the New League Season
LPSA is 25 years old this year – We want to help our customers meet their bowling ambitions.
“Using the summer to prepare your bowling kit”
Getting ready for your next league or bowling competition season requires a small amount of preparation enabling you to hit the ‘ground running’ in the autumn.
Summer is best to prepare for this.
Bowling equipment take a hammering throughout the ‘bowling year’ and even for the most dedicated bowler there is a limit where DIY maintenance can be successful.
Wear and tear plus lane oil saturation can reduce bowling ball performance by as much as 50%, some bowlers regard this as the onset of ‘ball death’ – LPSA does not subscribe to this thinking – better to maintain optimally!!
What needs to be done?
1. Lane Oil Saturation – LPSA has invested in a ‘Detox’ machine understood to be the only one in the UK – using specialist detergent, heat, micro pulses whilst the ball is fully immersed in the tank, removes virtually all absorbed lane oil
2. Tracking Effect – Over the bowling season the friction point between the ball and the lane (the track) translates into a change in predictable ball movement.
To measure the changes around the ball where friction has been affected LPSA has invested in a specialist machine call a “CTD Surface Scanner” which informs where ‘factory finish’ has been prejudiced by use and thereby what refinishing is needed.
3. Resurfacing / Refinishing – The performance of your bowling equipment can be adversely affected by ‘chips’ and ‘scratches’ to the surface of your bowling balls, to return them to ‘Factory Finish’ requires a range of specialist equipment being utilised – LPSA has invested in the following state of the art equipment:
a. Storm Surface Factory Pro – Believed to be only one of three in use across the UK, designed and manufactured by ‘Storm’ to return
bowling balls back to factory finish.
b. Mirka System Resurfacing – For severely worn or damaged bowling balls it is necessary to remove a few micron of ball surface whilst retaining the exact shape of the ball surface, Once the resurfacing has been done it will then pass to be refinished to customer requirements.
c. Haus Resurfacing System – LPSA has invested in the latest version of this highly sophisticated machine which can deploy diamond cutting discs for ball reshaping through to lambs wool polishing pads for extra shine. The versatility of this machine compliments LPSA’s other equipment.
d. Powerhouse Cabinet Ball Spinner – For fine tuning ball surface configuration, LPSA has invested in a ‘state of the art’ ball spinner plus an extensive array of abrasives for use on all ball types and surfaces.
4. Ballancing your ‘Arsenal’ – Just like a golfer tenpin bowlers need equipment to cover all eventualities thereby ensuring optimal performance where playing conditions are not favourable. LPSA has further equipment designed to achieve bespoke balance across your bowling equipment and more to the point the expertise to realise customer ambitions.
5. Damage Repair – Sadly mechanical damage to bowling balls happens warranting professional repair – we in LPSA pride ourselves that balls which we have been repaired typically, exceed customer expectations for colour match, shape retention and performance.
6. Plugging and redrilling – LPSA has recognised an upturn in the incidence of on-line purchasing of pre-owned bowling balls which need to be customised for the new owner use. It is a sad reality that many of these balls are misshapen and need to be ‘cut back’ to bring them back to manufacturers specifications. LPSA has invested in a wide range of specialised equipment and products designed to effectively recycle bowling balls.
Ball Death is a reality for Reactive Resin bowling balls – We in LPSA promise to advise our customers when a “Christian Burial” is needed.

Having just completed a stock take to inform the new point of sale (POS) inventory system for LPSA / Ballistic, I was astounded by the extent of our stock and how it has changed over our 25 years in business as well as endeavouring to forecast what our customers will want in the future.
Many of our traditional customers requirements are radically different from new entrants to the game/sport of tenpin, consequently the scope of our inventory needs to reflect your requirements – We are reaching out to you to help us meet your
needs.

3. Brunswick ball fitting kit complete with tubes and counter stand – this retro ball hand measuring tool is both practical and will interest customers. Offers over £125 +P&P will secure.
4. Do-Do Scales – LPSA can offer 2 sets of Kaufman scales and 1 set of AMF scales, they are in perfect working order, offered at £125 +P&P each (90%) beneath current new RRP).
5. Quarter and Half Ball display items (designed to show core structure to (customers), these are offered at £15 +P&P each (75% beneath RRP)

LPSA Pro Shop - 100 Days of 25th Birthday Presents.
LPSA is 25 years old this year!!! – Let’s celebrate.
For 100 days LPSA will be giving customers presents on a range of stock and services. There is a 10% saving on all pre-owned, once drilled, prepared and box finished high performance bowling balls. 20% saving on pre-owned once drilled bowling balls in ‘as is’ condition. More than 100 ex-Demo balls (14lb / 15lb) less than 2 years from being first launched, the remainder of 300 pre-owned balls are ‘golden oldies’ ‘retro’s, rare, and trade-ins. Look out for the soon to be published inventory of qualifying bowling balls.
It doesn’t stop there:
LPSA is offering a minimum 10% saving on all stock bowling shoes and up to 35% on women and children’s shoes.
LPSA will give a 10% saving on drilling prices for all bowling balls purchased over the 100 day ‘birthday present’ period.
LPSA’s legendary ‘new ball’ stock will also become part of the ‘birthday party celebration’ for every new full priced bowling ball there will be a further 25% reduction on selected pre-owned stock bowling balls.
LPSA has recently acquired a collection of 24 undrilled and boxed high performance bowling balls sourced from the US by the bowling ball collector. These, mostly 14lb, balls are being discounted by up to 75% from the original RRP.
These are sold on a first come first served basis. The inventory is being published w/c 15 th July 2024.
