Welcome to Wrexham, Kabelo! 🌍⚽🎓

Today we were delighted to welcome Kabelo from Kick4Life FC in Lesotho to Wrexham University!

Kabelo joins us as part of the education pathway developed between Wrexham University and Kick4Life FC and will begin his journey on our FdA Football & Community Development, delivered in partnership with Wrexham AFC Foundation.

Alongside his studies, Kabelo will have the opportunity to gain valuable applied experience within the Foundation and wider football environment here in Wrexham.

His arrival is an exciting milestone for our partnership with Kick4Life FC and shows what can be achieved when football, education and community development come together to create opportunities across borders.

A huge thank you to everyone across Kick4Life FC, Wrexham AFC Foundation and Wrexham University who has helped make this possible.

We’re excited to follow Kabelo’s journey over the coming years!

🔬 Great to have Steven and Conner our MSc Sport and Exercise Science students, back in the lab today for some extra practical experience.

We always encourage our students to make the most of our state-of-the-art laboratory facilities by booking additional lab sessions outside of their timetabled classes.

These extra sessions are a great opportunity to build confidence, develop practical skills, and gain valuable hands-on experience that complements what they learn in the classroom.

It’s always fantastic to see students taking the initiative and investing in their own development. Keep up the great work! 👏

The Raise the Bar Powerlifting Competition will be held at Fervid Fitness in Flint on 1st August 2026, with all proceeds raised on the day going to Leukaemia & Myeloma Research UK.

A £500 prize will go to the top lifter in each category, and the competition is open to lifters of all experience levels.

Every entry helps raise more for the charity, and all support is greatly appreciated!

A sincere thank you to everyone involved in yesterday’s MSc Sport and Exercise Science Conference. The theme of resilience gave us a strong thread to pull on across both the Performance and Clinical pathways, and the contributions from speakers, staff, and students made for a genuinely worthwhile day.
A particular thanks to our guest speakers: Dr Chelsea Batty, Dr Julian Ayres, Tom King and Ben Agius whose applied insight and willingness to share real-world experience added real weight to the discussions.
Our thanks also go to our MSc students and academic staff for their engagement throughout the day, and for the part they played in making it a success!

Yesterday we celebrated two outstanding students who were recognised with the Student Award for the 2024/25 academic year!
